i for one thinks Gracie definitely doesn't fit the island aesthetic, so it's understandable she wouldn't be camping at Harv's, but i do miss her expensive furniture sets. shopping in her shop really does feel "deluxe". like when you've already earned enough bells and nowhere to spend it on, i really did love spending bells on her store back in New Leaf.

do y'all think there's possibility still of her returning in a mini update? or the "last major update" mention on 2.0 means this is it and the next updates are just for seasonal events and bug fixes? (this isn't a rant or me being greedy, just curious)

does anyone know if she appears at The Roost or with the amiibo?

There is no more content coming to this game.
Just bug fixes from now on.

No chance I'm afraid

Is this really confirmed like final final? i guess since we've had the game for more than a year covering all seasons, the chances of 1 seasonal minor inclusion seems unlikely.

As close to confirmed as I think we will ever get

thanks for the link. Reading it now & laughing at this part:

"Unfortunately, IGN didn’t choose to provide a direct quote from Nintendo that we could analyze further for any careful wording or phrasing, but the absence of that likely means the answer was quite straightforward and unambiguous. (furthermore, Nintendo PR would have reached out to IGN for a correction by now if there was a misunderstanding)"

small changes definitely means only bug fixes and probably like a couple of seasonal items they put on hold (like the last few months), but the AC fan in us are somewhat hoping there's was something to analyze with the wording. (like the 3 years worth of update that was thrown around, without the actual quote lol)

they wouldn't put this out there during the announcement for no reason. it definitely felt like a one last hurrah.

Personally I dont think we will be getting any seasonal updates either since 2.0 included new seasonal items in it. (The article was pre 2.0 being released)

I think if we were to get any more updates it would be promotional stuff for other Nintendo games coming out.
But I don't know how likely that is.

I think its safest to just assume the updates are truly over now.

It says last major free update, so does that mean there will be small charged updates?

Labelle clearly took Gracie's place in this game. Yeah, it's very watered down now, but there's no point (thematically speaking) in having two characters that are all about fashion in a game like this. I agree that Gracie doesn't fit in NH. Honestly, I think she only fits one game, and that's City Folk.

I really love grace, i wish she appeared even as a passing by character like in the gamecube game where you washed her car every so often.
i believe she could of had a lot of potential in New Horizons with what she could of offered, but as others above have said sadly i dont think she will be returning in this title😢

sadly, she won't be, since this was the last update, but i do want to say i disagree with her not fitting the island aesthetic. i could've easily seen her "glamping" at harv's island as she looks to nature for inspiration on a more rustic or natural styled set of clothes/furniture. or turning up at our plaza the same way she did in NL because she now deems your town "worthy" of her presence and wants to be (in her eyes) responsible for cementing its position on the map by vouching for it and telling the wider public that it has her stamp of approval etc. (it would've only been one visit though, not repeated a la label since that would've been pointless. i could even see her wandering the island during that one visit to "see the sights" instead to avoid the comparison.) of course this is all just hypothetical since she sadly won't be in this game, but. hopefully she returns with the next one. i highkey miss her.

i meant not as a permanent shop though! probably a visit, with us looking at her seasonal catalog and then mailing us the item. like that's the storyline that i could think of working lol.

yeah, that's why i would've preferred her as a vendor at harv's. i could see her on a second floor at nook's though, with the exterior generally remaining the same. (just bigger.) then she could give you the option to make it more like the final upgrade in past games i.e. flashier and more city-esque for people who have a town that would fit that design. but then if you said no, you're not interested, she'd do the shrugging reaction and basically be like, "suit yourself."

I honestly don't see us getting anything else beyond bug fixes. I'd love it if she returns (especially for the princess and gorgeous sets - I didn't really use the rest) but it's not a deal breaker to me if she doesn't.

You know what may fit better than Gracie herself storyline-wise? If there was a brand new character that was supposed to be her apprentice. I can see Gracie sending an apprentice out to a rural island to try to learn things because she (Gracie) doesn't want to go there herself, but then the apprentice becoming successful at it. After the apprentice gets successful (maybe by you buying x number of Gracie things that the apprentice sells), maybe once in a while Gracie herself would visit with the excuse of training her apprentice but complain about the lack of amenities she's used to. :ROFLMAO:

Just because we saw special NPCs at the Roost doesn't mean that they will come back to play a Role in the future. Here's the thing about Gracie Grace. In New Leaf when you have your Nook shop upgraded all the way she used to be on the 3rd floor selling a lot of expensive furniture. The only way to unlock it at the time was that you have to pass most of her fashion checks. I know Label does it in this game, but it really doesn't serve much of a purpose and all you get is just "Label" style clothing. If the Nook Cranny's shop would've gotten upgrades then there was a high chance of Gracie Grace appearing, but seeing as they didn't add it. I don't see her returning. You can talk to her all you want at the Roost when you use her amiibo, but other than that, thats pretty much it.

I saw in another thread, someone (sorry, I'm forgetting who) used her amiibo and did build her a house/store in (HHP).

I think maybe part of Nintendo adding the amiibo NPCs for the Roost/HHP was so that people could still see those characters even though they didn't have a role in the game.

This makes me wonder if the next mainline animal crossing game will go back to the big city but instead you're the mayor (again) in charge of a big city and its your job to make sure everything is built.
