I don't think so but it's a cool idea! I miss the harmony of past games where each town was randomly assigned a theme for exteriors and if a villager moved to someone else's town it'd stick out a bit. I liked that.
This is a pure speculation thread. As we all know, the new DLC will allow us to customize the interiors of villagers living on our islands. We also know that certain features won’t carry over to our islands, like being able to expand room size.
What I’m wondering is, do you think we’ll also be able to customize the exteriors of their houses as well? I personally would love this feature, as it would make it so much easier to plan out neighborhoods with cohesive house styles. But also I’m not getting my hopes up that this will be the case.
what about you guys? Do you think this is a feature we’ll see, or do you think the customization ends at villager interiors?
As far as I know the roommate thing is only for vacation homes. I would love for some of my villagers on my island to be able to have a roommate.I'm not sure! I'd truly love it if we could though! The one thing that makes me think that we may not be able to do this though is the whole roommate boarding thing now. If two villagers live under one roof, then how does one split the house or decide who gets what furniture? I honestly think interiors may not play a role because of this but I'd still love to see it as an idea.
Wait we can customize their interiors?? I knew we could with the dlc but I thought it was purely happy home designer style.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's just limited to the interior. I wonder how much of the interior we can modify. Like, could we add walls or columns? And while I'm kinda sad we probably won't be able to customize the exterior, I'm so happy we can change the interiors for many reasons. First, it'll be pretty cool to visit other people's islands and check how their villagers interiors are decorated (and more so if we share the same villagers!) but also because of this! It always scares me how they'll place their items lol. But also, I'm sure this is a big relief for those who still have their starter villagers and were thinking of trading them because their starter homes are very bare.I sort of got the impression it was a possibility with the DLC, once you've done enough vacation homes, BUT now I'm thinking it was just the interiors. That would solve the gift giving problem, where they ruin their house by just displaying everything.
I am sure we could wipe any gifts on display at the time we redo the interior, but I am not quite sure we will be able to wipe their entire storage of gifts, so there is a possibility they will pop back up in the interior later. It would be F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C if gift storage was wiped, because I am sick and tired of seeing the weird gifts villagers received from other villagers (Someone gave Sherb a creepy baby romper that he constantly wears and displays, and I can’t get it out of his inventory for the life of me).I sort of got the impression it was a possibility with the DLC, once you've done enough vacation homes, BUT now I'm thinking it was just the interiors. I hate that so much, ESPECIALLY the baby rompers and instant muscle suits. I've started telling the recipient that it doesn't look good, so they at least never wear it, but annoyingly they still display it in their house.
