In the freezer and only if there's a surplus that I know I'm not going to use within the week.

Wowee, my mom does this, except for the freezer. Why is unknown on my end.

i personally rarely eat bread, but i answered "no" because my family doesn't. we don't freeze it either. it goes in the cupboard, it gets eaten within a week/before its BBE, and then we buy more. everyone i know is the same. not sure if that's because i'm in the UK or what, but.

I usually buy two loaves and one goes in the fridge, the other in the freezer. I like bread a lot.

depends on the bread type & how much space we have in our fridge — usually we’ll just refrigerate fancy breads like cheesebread in my household, & it’s hard finding room in the fridge to fit a loaf sometimes. 😅

I do not! I don't buy bread all the time (gluten-free bread why do you have to be so expensive 😭) but whenever I do buy bread it just stays on the counter. Our fridge is pretty small and doesn't usually have enough free space for a loaf of bread. When I buy it from the shop it's usually from the freezer section and if I get it on sale and end up with an extra I'll put the second one in the freezer until I'm ready to use it.

My dad doesn't refrigerate his bread but he also won't put it in the freezer even if he has too much. He says he can "taste the freezer" when he does that 😂 Instead he just subjects himself to having Far Too Much bread for a few weeks 😔 I try and tell him the sale isn't really worth it since it's too much bread to eat at once but what do I know 😔

I keep mine in the freezer and take out/thaw pieces as I need them. I live alone and can't eat a full loaf fast enough.

I've been storing bread in the fridge for quite a while now. Me and my family eat through the entire loaf slowly, so it makes sense to extend its shelf life longer by doing just that. Putting bread in the freezer well, I have not ever thought of that before. My freezer is nearly stuffed so I can't really do it lol.

I put bread in the freezer at the end of the day, then take whatever I'm going to want out at the beginning of the next day. I end up with so much bread loafs, rolls and baguettes in there it gets silly.

Putting bread in the fridge makes it go stale quicker.

I don't buy loaves of bread because it would take me forever to eat them. However, I do buy bagels and tortilla shells that I store in the fridge. It usually takes me two or three weeks to finish them, so it just makes sense to me.

In the fridge, though I didn't use to. Putting it in the fridge prolongs it, keeps mold away for longer, etc. Especially if you live in a hot area

Not usually, no. My family does sometimes though and I can understand why.

I mean what? I don't put bread in a fridge. I always put them on the counter in the Kitchen. Man people are weird these days with Tik Tok.

wait putting bread in the fridge is a thing?? I've literally never seen anyone do it until I moved into my flat and my flatmate keeps it in the fridge...I thought she was just weird 😅

I don't really eat bread myself, but my family keep it out on the counter and any excess loafs go in the freezer.

My partner and I have disagreements about this 😅

He grew up in a household that put bread in the fridge. I keep bread on the counter / in a cupboard if I'll be eating it soon or the freezer for later (then I'll thaw it and eat it). I think the logic is that the bread spoils slower in the fridge and that is probably true but I don't like the cold bread. The texture is weird when it's cold, it loses its fluffiness. If you're just making toast it's fine I suppose but to grab a slice of cold bread out of the fridge and just eat it?? Not a fan.

yup, that's it! people put it in the fridge to try and increase its shelf life. especially if you take a little while to go through a loaf. huge agree with the textural thing, though. it's why i only put breads like cheesebread & cinnamon bread in the fridge, i only eat those toasted anyway.

Wait. Other people have room in their fridges for bread? I don’t understand
