I’ve never thought about putting bread in the fridge but definitely do put bread in the freezer. Maybe bread in the fridge is more in hot countries? Living in the UK heat is very rarely an issue ️
I always keep bread in a bread bin on a counter, there is generally enough room in the fridge but it's never very hot here so it lasts fine outside off it. If the bread has a short use by date though and I don't have time to finish it then I'll sometimes put it in the freezer to make it last longer.
I only keep bread in the fridge if I don't think I'm going to get through it quickly. Rolls or nicer bread goes into the freezer to take out as needed. We buy more in bulk so we don't have to go to the store as often. Stuff seems to mold quickly in our kitchen.
No, we keep it in the pantry. My mom used to buy an extra loaf to keep in the freezer, but I complained about the texture of it so she stopped doing that.
nooo bread is always eaten very quickly in our house, when i lived on my own i would freeze/refrigerate bread though bc i didn't eat a lot of bread (only for toasting tho, it has a weird taste if u don't)
i've never known anyone who keeps bread in the fridge or freezer so no, I don't. I did however recently hear that keeping bread in the freezer keeps it fresh for a lot longer and if you put it in with like a paper towel or smth it tastes great even after being frozen, might wanna try that sometime
I’ve never heard of such a concept. I don’t put my bread in the fridge or freezer, but I suppose reading through these comments it makes since if you/your family doesn’t eat a loaf very fast.
I'm pretty sure keeping bread in the fridge lets moisture accumulate, and thus makes the bread moldy quicker than usual. Also...I don't particularly want cold bread. Any time I've seen bread in a fridge, though...the inside of the plastic has water molecules on it from the cooling process.
It rather depends on the time of the year. During the winter, I don't need to. During the warmer months, I will, because I'm one person and can't always get through a loaf before it spoils.
If I get extra because there's a sale (BOGO), the extra goes in the freezer.
