Do you plan on staying active at TBT, even if a new Nsider/replica is open?

*Nsider's Only Please*

I voted yes. Im actually enjoying this type of forume right now, Its been about a year or 2 since I've been apart of a forume like this, and I now remember why I liked it so much. Im gonna go to the other forum to post threads that are more fit for it, but for general chat, that site looks like its gonna be like NSiders old spam baords.

So for that tpe of talk, this is the place for me... infact its nice to be able to remember who everyone is already

:p

I voted yes as well since I do like the smaller community feel...but I also like the fast paced nature of some forums during my downtimes which with TBT...i haven't been getting that. It's nice to come here though and REALLY feel a sense of community and with time we'll be as crotchety as y'all are

;)

I voted yes. I, too, like the smaller community. Sometimes it was hard to keep track of all the posts on the NSider boards. I usually only went to the VC board and I barely had time to keep up there!

I also voted yes. I'm going to hang around here. I hope you don't mind.

Well, since every vote has been yes... LOL, this reminded me of an episode of Newsradio, where the staff was voting to decide who (Dave or Lisa) was going to be the news director, and all the votes were for Lisa. Nevertheless, Bill said that he voted for Dave, and he demanded a recount! (yeah, I know, completely random, but maybe someone has watched Newsradio before).

One of the greatest and most under-appreciated TV shows out there!

That series was really, really good, although I think the quality went down after Phil Hartman died. Jon Lovitz didn't make up for the lack of Bill in the final season.

Yeah I agree. Hartman was great on that show (as well as others!). Great show.

|sf>I'm sticking around. As I've mentioned before, I've known about the information areas of this web page for years, but I never really had a reason to join the forum section or grab an account. I also love creating AC patterns. Having people I know already is a nice incentive too.

:D

Newsradio? Did that show have Joe Rogan in it? Anyway, back to the topic. I also voted yes, because I really don't like the idea of official forums right now... That's the second time those forums have been taken down now, and I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't happen again. Even if they made new forums, they said they had no plans to retain our ranks and post counts, so we would all have to start at square one again. I was just a few posts away from editing abilities... Anyway, this smaller forum is way less spammy, and I don't think I could stand to go back to that.

Yes, Joe Rogan was.... Joe, the electrician or the guy who fixed everything with duct tape.

How long were the Nsider forums closed the first time?

Man, that sucks. I always feared that I would spend a long without editing powers (I was far from getting them, around 900 posts far) and when I finally get them, they would change the rules, and allow editing at a lower number of posts.

Hey Infinity....I think they closed the forums down the first time in 2000 and reopened them back in 2003 or somewhere along the lines...so if it's cyclical in nature...we should see them back up in 2010 XD...seriously though...nothing in life is permanent I suppose

:)

Was it closed like this time? Without any reason or warning?

That I couldn't tell you...sorry. I joined the NSider forum Nov 21st of last year (or somewhere around that time frame) so I don't really know what happened 7 years ago...though it's my understanding that they did give a warning the first time.

Well, if they had the same rules as this time, maybe chaos broke loose when they announced that the forums were closing, and everybody tried to share their emails, and other personal info.

P.S. Hey, you registered about a month before I did.

What can I say....a lot of slow days with work plus Mondays as Home office days translated into a lot of posts XD

Form what I remember they did say they were closing the old forums, but never said how long they would be closed for. I think I remember thinking it would only be for a couple months.

Of course that was so long ago, I could e thinking about something else.
