Do you plan on staying?

Form what I remember they did say they were closing the old forums, but never said how long they would be closed for. I think I remember thinking it would only be for a couple months.

Of course that was so long ago, I could e thinking about something else.
Can't sleep? (I don't think I've ever seen you up this late..that's why I"m asking).

Well I voted yes. I really prefer this type of community over the "hustle and bustle" of the old Nsider. While I did set up an account there, it is really just to bide my time during the slow sections of the day here. I've been apart of a much smaller forum community in the past (even smaller than this...around 300 ppl) and really enjoy the fact that you get to know a lot more people more personally.

Hey Infinity....I think they closed the forums down the first time in 2000 and reopened them back in 2003 or somewhere along the lines...so if it's cyclical in nature...we should see them back up in 2010 XD...seriously though...nothing in life is permanent I suppose

:)
Was it closed like this time? Without any reason or warning?
That I couldn't tell you...sorry. I joined the NSider forum Nov 21st of last year (or somewhere around that time frame) so I don't really know what happened 7 years ago...though it's my understanding that they did give a warning the first time.
Actually, the last time it closed I think you were able to share contact info, plus there was no such thing as a friend code, so I don't think people would have panicked as much. However, this time it would have been complete chaos. I'm sure that's why they didn't tell us, if they'd given us 1 week's notice we all would have been breaking their favorite rules for the full week.

I plan to stay also, if y'all will have me! I prefer the smaller forum as well. Here I go to most sections of the forums, where as before I was almost always on the VC board. It seems so much better here, and I definitely post more here, of course that could be because work is waaaaaay slow.

|sf>Yeah. Profiles used to include an optional listing for your AIM ID which you could share with those who were in your friends list. That's because one of the rewards for buying certain Nintendo games has been AIM icons.

Right after Mario Kart DS hit in November 2005 was when all the guard dogs appeared where they claimed you could get kicked out for sharing AIM ID codes, at which time I PM'd the person who posted that message to ask, "You mean, I could get kicked out of the forums by filling in the line built into my account which asks what my AIM ID is?!?"

BTW, I did mix up these forums with a different Animal Crossing page from years ago, but I do still plan to stick around.
