do you prefer downloadable or retail versions of games?

Digital. I buy games to play them and digital is more convenient.

As for resale, games rarely increase or even hold their value.

I have DD (digital download) and physical. But DD is way more convenient for games like ACWA, RF4, SoS ToT , Terraria (3dsxl) Minecraft (Wii U) It is more convenient I don't have to change the game all the time, For the 3dsxl if i am playing a game and don't want to take my case (where my game go) and traveling because there are popular titles in my case and you can see it I juse take my 3dsxl, most people have no idea what the heck it is any way, they have to ask me, they think it is some "new kind of phone" but if i have my case with the games they know exactly what it is. I have mistakenly left this in a malls on tables, at best buy, in mc donalds before and came back, it was still there because no one knew what it was. As for the Wii U the whole 25 feet and no disc always sounds sweet, sounds even better if you have DD and physical. I don't mind both, I have a large SD card a WAY to many EXHD

Physical but lately I really just want to download all the games I want to remove the hassel of carrying around a small container for the cartridges and having to swap them out whenever I play a game.
Definatly wish there was more of a steam system in place for things like nintendo games.

Physical copy any day, I'm far too lazy to go on things like eBay I much prefer doing a bit of reading and finding something I can relate to, anything with a rich dialogue, gameplay and overall story is always great, still is fun to have a lot of character control in the Animal Crossing series as oppose to knit up points of a story like Shining Force which I saw for the first time in years on a console. :)

Physical copies , because:
-If your console gets stolen / lost , atleast the games you have didnt , maybe only 1
-Nintendo consoles are low on capacity , meaning you need a SD card , a.k.a more expensive
-You MAY get a cheaper price for a game if you buy it physical than digital?

Retail but at least with downloadable I know it won't wreck due to the stupid new 3ds xl's game slot's location. -___-

Whenever possible I have preferred to purchase retail copies of video games rather than download them. That said, obviously that's not possible with a lot of stuff on the eShop, especially the old games that are being made available again via the Virtual Console, so I don't have anything against downloading games if necessary.

Physical. In the UK it is generally cheaper to buy physical copies of games.

I like them both.

Physical copies are good for when you loose the DS, but digital games are good if your DS can't read gamecards (mine can't read gamecards :()

I definitely prefer physical copies! I love having it and the boxes that come with it. I'm pretty good about keeping track of my games so I don't really worry about losing the physical copies. Also, then I can time-travel without worry ;_;

I used to absolutely prefer physical copies, but now I don't really like how much space the cases take up

Plus most of the Picross games for the 3DS are digital only sooo there's my answer

Retail. You can trade them back if they suck, and they don't clog the overly small memory cards you get. And they glitch less than digital I've heard, at least from New Leaf copies. And, well sometimes they do nice LE's as well with physical copies.

I prefer tangible, but I do have one game that I downloaded on my 3DS (mostly because it was cheaper than getting it at the store).

The reason why I like the tangible versions is because, well, what if the actual system gets corrupted? If you were to download games directly onto it, everything would be gone (unless you can re-download them again from the shop but I have never tried that). Plus, if the system does fail then you still have the games and can just get a new system. The only problem I have is when you get the DLC or new updates, because it can potentially ruin the game if you get a lot of updates at once.

Yeah, I went all DL with my 3DS and Vita and those memory cards filled up in no time. Which reminds me I need to get a bigger memory card for my 3DS. At least the 3DS doesn't use proprietary cards like the Vita does. >.<

Yeah. It would probably be more useful with digital if one have a foreign 3ds like my Japanese LL one but yeah those.. way too small cards and the potential crashing and glitching, nah. I'd rather buy physical from some store online.

True that, and the Vita cards are so frigging expensive.

I like to have the physical copies of the games, because I'm always afraid my console will break and I might lose the game if it's pre-downloaded.
