I'd prefer more land. Though the water one is cool, I feel like it would really limit what you could do and make it feel choppy. But I do wonder if they will have a cap on the percentage of water you can put on your island.
WATER. I won't go so far as to say I'll be recreating Venice, but my island will definitely be water themed. Rivers separating sections of my island... I can't wait to get that permit and start changing up my rivers.
I think land is cozier, but I've never been one to care for towns with rivers running through or around them whether that's in game or real life. I like a forest/nature vibe better. It's neat how much you can do with the terraforming though.
im not sure, on one had I want to say more land but on the other hand, its a new game and having more water would make my experience even more different and unique than new leaf
I like the second one, and think it looks a lot more organized, but I feel like it doesn't work well in an Animal Crossing setting. Especially more so now that we can place things outside. The first map would work better, but at the same time, may not be possible due to the limitations with terraforming
I'm really excited to see what people come up with when the actual game comes out.
I like the look of water based maps but think they?d render a bit useless for the practicalities of everyday island life. I like the maps that have their own islands incorporated into it but I suppose that depends on how limiting the terraforming is!
As someone said earlier, land islands are probably going to be more practical and efficient at achieving Nook mile goal. Mid-late game is when i would start implementing more canals and waterfalls. Not as many as the 2nd picture but I definitely want to take advantage of the fact we can make waterfalls now!
i would appreciate the extra space, but also having lots of land would help fit with my theming better, as i'm going for a woodland/forest theme, and I don't want too much water!
it might help to add that i'm not the biggest fan of fishing, so I wouldn't really care if I had a bit less water.
anyways, I would probably just stick with the normal amount of river that is offered, and use the waterscaping a bit!
can't wait to see all of the new features, and hey, maybe fishing will be a blast in NH, we'll just have to wait and see!
my head; land based because obviously it's more practical
my heart; water based because almost all my animal crossing characters have been sailor/sea based so it would be fitting for once. also it's just prettier imo
