I have never tried an eye mask but I've been getting more and more interested in it lately. I've heard that some people find the gentle weight / pressure around the eyes to be calming and I think I might benefit from that. I'm not as much concerned about the light blocking aspect though.
i would love to be able to sleep with one on because some of them are in really cute patterns and designs but it makes my face heat up really quickly and makes me feel slightly chlaustrophobic
No, I don't really like to have things on my face for a long time. I do think some of the designs are really cute but I also move around a lot in my sleep so I feel like it would just be super uncomfortable.
No I actually like a bit of light, I find total darkness too encroaching. I've also tried an eyemask because I got one as a gift, and I just can't sleep with something covering my face.
I do have blackout blinds, but lately I've been leaving them open a crack as I like the early morning sun streaming in, plus it helps me wake up!
I used to sleep with an eye mask because it had come with a pyjama set (and they're meant to help with more restful sleep), but I just moved too much in my sleep for it to stay on properly.
Taking my glasses off is almost like an eye mask lol. No I don't use them honestly. Maybe if I traveled I would? Usually I can find a dark enough space at home to sleep in. That sounded weird lol. If it is daylight I can find a room that is dark enough for me at home.
I have no problems sleeping during the day, it’s at night where I have the problems. An eye mask would probably cause me more problems than would help and I doubt it would stay on my face for long.
I can't cause I don't like having things attached to my body, especially my face, when im trying to sleep. i would have an easier time sleeping in a well lit room than with an eye mask on. I can't even sleep with headphones/earbuds on.
I have sensory issues so my room can always be made to be super dark at any time of day if need be. thus i have no need for an eye mask
I do sometimes, because i work late nights/early mornings so often I’m going to sleep while it’s still bright out. I’ve got blackout curtains, but since my room has poor air circulation my fans occasionally blows part of it open so light gets through.
I don't like the feeling of something on my face when trying to sleep so I don't. But I'll make an exception and use one when I'm on a plane! Too many passengers with their lights on all the time on a 13+ hour flight so...
I can’t sleep when there’s light in the room (or sound.. I’m essentially a tropical fish that needs perfect conditions lmao). I have tried to wear a mask in the past but they’ve always been uncomfortable/too tight or hurt my nose. Ive actually resorted to using special fluffy socks that I drape over my eyes which do the trick until it gets dark no pressure on my face and they’re fluffy! Win win.
I actually sleep without it on but once its early morning and some light starts to come through I put it on and continue to sleep. I found a really comfy eye mask so I wouldn't mind wearing it to sleep either.
I used to be extremelly annoyed by my fiancé staying on his phone, when we went to bed.. luckily he rarely ever does it anymore, or I think I would need a separate bed, lol. Anyways, I tried to sleep with a eye mask to block out the light, but it just irritated my nose, like.. a LOT.
Felt like I had constantly someone tickling me with a feather >-<
I received one as a free gift with an order a couple of weeks ago—the entire world appears to know about my insomnia—and tossed it in a drawer. After seeing this thread I decided to give it a go. Last few nights I've had such restful sleep. It's made it so much easier to resist checking my phone when I wake-up in the night.
no I don't use an eye mask, I think if I woke up in the middle of the night to pitch black it would scare me lol. I sleep with all my lights off but leave my window blinds open, and since I live in the suburbs of a large city there is a lot of light pollution so there is always light coming from my windows at night which I am use to.
