do you think the delay was worth it?

I definitely think the wait was worth it, this game is so much more than I ever thought it'd be.
Edit: Also I'm kinda excited for the season-based updates. It will really feel like the game is alive and constantly thriving imo.

it was one hundred percent worth the wait. animal crossing is a game you can play for years and years after release and this looks like it's going to be the best one yet.

Yes, I Absolutely think so. The direct was awesome, it seems like they listened to complaints from previous games. Now people visiting our town can't cut down trees or dig up the ground; we have an expanded inventory and storage, we have more control over where homes and shops are, etc.

"A delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever."
The delay was 10000% worth it. There are so many ways we can shape and form our town into our own. This game is going to keep Animal Crossing fans occupied for a good while. They have changed a lot of things for our benefit, and the graphics of the game are so appealing to me.
I also feel like the release date has crept up on us (well to me it has lol), so the delay was worth it in the end.

I know we've wanted a tool to make natural paths and they gave it to us, but as someone who has always made natural paths the ones in NH look, not natural, they look like patterns.

The edges are very straight.

You can make edges of custom pattern transparent, which you couldn't in NL, so it can be everything but sharp and straight. And default pattern edges can be rounded. So I don't understand what are you talking about...

It was absolutely worth the delay. We're getting so many new and exciting things to do (I mean, they're basically giving us built-in modding). Still annoyed over the one island per system thing, but now that I have a second Switch...I can make my peace with it

Personally speaking, I?m on the fence about whether the delay was worth it or not. I?m not fond of these holiday updates. These are normally in game. I didn?t like the reference about obtaining special items for ACNH. The thing that worries me the most about ?updates? is all games Nintendo makes, eventually, get left behind. So where does that leave ACNH if we have to rely on updates for content?

I'm worried about this as well ? do event just stop happening once the game is too old? I have CF and even though Nintendo doesn't support it anymore, I can still play through events and so on because they are in the game itself.

I understand the being wary of updates part. I'm a little leery on the idea too, but I'm going to roll with it and try not to judge it until we really know how they are going to work.

But, I really do think that the "obtaining special items" part (from Pocket Camp, right?) was just a reference to some bonus furniture that is unlocked in the game if we played Pocket Camp. Just like the giant items we were able to get in New Leaf if we played Happy Home Designer.

So where does that leave ACNH if we have to rely on updates for content?

Can you expand what you mean about this? ACNH will have a lot of content even without the holiday updates. And even then, New Leaf had some updates for content too, but we don't talk about it being featureless or lacking content from before the Welcome Amiibo patch came out. Or when they had special items available at the post office from time to time. Like the zodiac set and stuff like that.

I think the only alternative to this delay would have been a completely unfinished game, rather than a semi unfinished game. I don't mind that the Holidays are coming out as free DLC, but I think the wait is worth it as long as the game feels fully complete at whatever time you're playing it. Obviously I won't need the Christmas event until Christmas.

I think it was worth it. It has to be a very complicated game to produce.

I'm happy with the wait. I wonder what elements wouldn't have been part of the game if it came out last year. It would be interesting to know what the staff had in mind to bring it to that next level. I'd like to think someone had an idea, the team said "Wait!", and...delayed. The build-up has been great and I don't think I've ever been this excited for a game release.

As I mentioned above, when ACNL was about a year old, Happy Home Showcase was abandoned by Nintendo. The only way you could fill up your Showcase was through others StreetPasses. It was also difficult to get special items through Best Buy, McDonald's and other retailers despite Nintendo stating we could on specific days/months obtain these special items.

These things and other incidents have me feeling a little apprehensive about Nintendo's intentions later down the line.

Don't get me wrong, I've been playing Nintendo games since I bought my first SNES, and I will continue playing regardless of what happens with ACNH. :)

I would rather wait for a much better game than a rushed release. That said, I'm so happy it's coming out in less than a month! It was so worth the wait!

I don't use patterns, only natural paths, but the natural paths in NH look like patterns.

I will always take a delayed game over a rushed one. I will never know what it would have looked like if they had stuck to their deadline but I know it wouldn't have been all that we are getting.
