Do you think the outside furniture feature will debunk PWPs from returning?

Now that you can place any type of furniture outside of town, I believe that PWP's will no longer become a thing anymore.

Well, look at Pocket Camp and Happy Home Designer, they let you place furniture outside. Not only that, but they both have PWP's as furniture that you can place indoors as well.

This leads me to believe the fact that PWP's will be debunked and this new feature will be the big deal.

But what do you think?

Yep, I think that exactly. I like it better, though, because it looks like we have way more freedom to place the items.
I hope that some of the pocket camp amenities make a return, though, I really liked the swimming pool. It would be neat if we could use it though.

Now before you say that PWP's have been removed completely, they'll still return as furniture. Just not as the way you used to.

For items/furniture that was placed anywhere in town - Yes.

But, mark my word, now shops will be the new PWPs and you'll get to chose their location on your island. Same thing with villagers houses.

This is a good point. You can see the two villager houses right next to each other on the map, leading me to believe you can place them.

Edit: those were more likely other players’ houses

Which is honestly a massive improvement.

Also they just built a Bonfire (NL PWP) on the Treehouse soooo

This also reminds me on if you can place villager houses anywhere now. Hmm...

I’m thinking that there will be new items/PWP’s to place outside. For example we’ve already seen the campfire, bonfire, sign posts and swinging chairs. I haven’t really seen people mention it before but you can also place fences down as shown on the trailer. I do agree that shops may be a PWP as on Treehouse it was mentioned that on previous Animal Crossings you arrive to a prebuilt town. However on this game, you start from scratch. I’m kind of thinking you can place shops where you want to or they may be a designated marketplace somewhere. Unsure about the museum though.

I hope not! I hope they go hand in hand :) Like others suggested the PWP's could be new shops as well in this game, perhaps after you've raised enough Miles or so.

I'm totally cool if they axe pwps all together in favor of this new feature! That said: I think they could co-exist. Big projects like bridges or upgrading stores could be pwps. But that also raises the question of if the mayor position still exists or not?

I think huge PWPs like the lighthouse would still have to be PWPs instead of furniture items.

No more of Isabelle's "This is too close to the river. This is too close to a rock. This is too close to a villager's house. This is too close. This is too close. This is too close. This is too close." I hope PWP are gone.

In the Treehouse playthrough, they had a house really close to the river. One of the jokes in Discord was "it can be that close to the river now because Isabelle is gone."

Yeah, about that. Tom Nook can say the same thing too.

I will just be happy to be able to place there exactly, and if it is not, then to just pick them back up and try again :)

I think most of the PWPs in New Leaf will just become regular furniture. However I could see a PWP feature still existing for larger scale projects. Buildings like the Museum that have appeared in the series since the beginning, or even completely new projects.

I hope PWP's are still there.

I doubt they'd have anything like Stonehenge as a furniture item.

PWP's are what made New Leaf fun.
