Do you think the outside furniture feature will debunk PWPs from returning?

considering how the bed in the tent during the treehouse demo is a pwp project from nl, the outdoor furniture will basically be the pwps, but with a lot more freedom. i much prefer outdoor furniture than pwps

I feel like the PWPs will exist in some form. For example, the police station, the 2nd floor of the museum, the train station remodeling... Those were PWPs too. I feel like aspects like those will still exist and obviously would make no sense to be furniture. They will probably be part of the crafting system (for things like remodeling buildings) or some sort of unlockable that you would have to complete some sort of goal to get (like those optional buildings I mentioned). So they wouldn't be called PWPs anymore most likely, but would exist in some other way.

For the regular decorative PWPs, I bet they will all be furniture. They might have some furniture that is just considered outdoor-only furniture that would be too big to put in a house and therefore only allowed to be placed outside. Some examples of that could be like the Tokyo Tower-like PWP or the giant billboard PWP from New Leaf.

I just hope they make more of those outdoor decorative PWPs more interactive somehow. I've always wished, for example, that you would see a villager sitting in the water of the hot spring PWP. Or maybe if you have the traffic light PWP some villagers will stop moving when it turns red, then start moving again when it turns green (lol!). That would be really cute and give more incentive to use some of those types of things.

Anyway, tl;dr - I don't think PWPs will exist anymore in the same way. They will be either furniture, crafted things, unlockables, or a combination of those things.

I feel like they might still have PWPs/bigger things that you can't place and pick up as freely as furniture can be placed. I kind of liked the permanent feeling of PWPs in new leaf, now if I can just drop lighthouses wherever I want it kind of loses its appeal.

Basically, I agree with everything said here. I'm just wondering how they'll implement building PWPs like the caf? and whatnot - will we make them ourselves at the crafting bench, or will someone else take over, i.e. we bring Nook the materials and he builds it? I also imagine that if we get items that are too big to be built inside, they might go through this system, as well.

And yes, the hot spring totally needs to be interactive!!!

I'm guessing that PWPs will be built in similar ways to the campfire shown in treehouse, except with more complicated materials. While certain furnitures may have the option of picking up/removing/replacing, larger PWPs may stay in place and can only be removed/moved by talking to Nook or something like that? Maybe it will also take a day to place elsewhere, much like the way PWPs work in New Leaf. We didn't really see Isabelle's involvement in this... so anything to do with building we may have to go to Nook.

I feel like that they'll just let you craft the PWPs and maybe only let you place them outside? So in a sense yes ''furniture'' will probably replace them but a better way to word it is that there is just a systematic overhaul.

Hmm maybe. Some things I?d want to keep like street lights and fountains such. Look on the bright side... we can keep our CARS outside! :D

I'm not convinced we're going to be in control of the bigger projects like buildings and the like, but if we are, I imagine they'll be done in a similar fashion to the old PWP system. You know, for stuff that doesn't make sense to be able to craft or place in a matter of seconds.

Haha that is the FIRST thing I thought of when I saw the trailer! No more building fake garages in my basement XD My beautiful sports car is going to be parked right outside lol.

Now before you say that PWP's have been removed completely, they'll still return as furniture. Just not as the way you used to.

That's what I'm thinking too. And I guess instead of select a PWP from a list, you may also have to
craft certain PWPs now. After all, it seems that crafting is now a big thing in NH.

For items/furniture that was placed anywhere in town - Yes.

But, mark my word, now shops will be the new PWPs and you'll get to chose their location on your island. Same thing with villagers houses.
That sounds pretty cool actually, makes wonder if you could also decide the look of the shops and
villager houses, kinda like Happy Home Designer 2.0, now with more freedom for your creativity. That
would make each player's island even more unique. I really like this idea.

What purpose would a car serve on such a tiny remote island ? Even a riding a bike would be overkill to get around on such a small island.

Decoration :) A little driveway next to your house with a car would look real cute even if it's completely unusable haha

That reminds me why we can't use a bike to maneuver around town faster. We can in Pokemon...

Maybe they should implement a skateboard/scooter. Even skates

Already have them, besides skates.

I think bigger stuff such as light houses, bridges, etc might still be PWPs or something more similar to their PC/WW/CF counterparts

bridges are the only pwp i can think of that would be built like a pwp rather than be put down as furniture. i hope there are still some tall pwps/furniture items like a lighthouse though. i don't know why they would remove it but it doesn't seem like it would place well inside of a house.

how expensive do you think the previous pwp items would be? or would they be unlockable in some way?
