People have been talking about the three year theory do you think it is true?

Well, it's been proven twice, so maybe a 3rd time will most likely to happen, if not late 2011, then early 2012. Better off waiting for E3 for details.
For years gamestop has listed incorrect release dates... they just pick a random day a few months from now and list all of the games with unknown release dates on that day.I do agree with DarthGohan1 but i went to gamestop recently to pre-order my copy of Paper Mario for the 3DS and they said that a lot of games are coming out on August 2nd, sort of like a huge boom of games for the 3DS, and Animal Crossing is one of them. I know it's still faraway but it's after E3 so it could be true.
game boy > game boy pocket > game boy color > game boy advance
ds > ds lite > dsi > 3ds
stick that in your pipe and smoke it
also game boy advance sp and game boy microu forgot dsixl
also game boy advance sp and game boy micro
fixed version:
game boy > gb pocket > gb color
game boy advance > gba sp > gb micro
ds > ds lite > dsi (xl is hardly notable)
3ds > 4ds > 4dsiXLcolorAdvanceMicro
so
it's ethereal, or what?

so you don't exactly have a definition for that fourth dimension?Well, that's what they would like for you to think. It's actually just a marketing ploy by Nintendo. There's going to be a nifty little dial on the side of the Nintendo dsiXLcolorAdvanceMicro. It will allow you to adjust the gameplay experience from 1d to 2d, 3d and eventually 4d (whereas the Nintendo 4d only allows games to be played in 3d and 4d - Nintendo doesn't always get the backwards compatibility right on the first try). The thing is even though through their R&D Nintendo has found that playing games in 4d for longer than 12 seconds severely damages long-term vision of players, they also know the side effects do not become apparent for a couple decades - making it impossible for said vision impairment to be traced to the Nintendo dsiXLcolorAdvanceMicro. Also, word on the street is that Nintendo considered releasing a "Nintendo dsiXLcolorAdvanceMicro Super!" which would be .07 pounds lighter and have a slightly better backlight on one of the 4 screens, but it's against their company policy to take advantage of their loyal customers through such tactics.
