My only bad animal crossing experience was with City Folk back in the wii days. Some random guy wearing a hockey mask came to my town and chopped down a tree then left without ever saying anything. lmao I'm pretty chill so I didn't care. He came back a few days later and we became friends.

People with bad intentions will always be around.

I haven't had problems with anyone here on TBT, and I've interacted with a LOT of different people thanks to trades and such.

The only issues I've had is the random people on the Club Tortimer island being jerks. But that's why I've only gone to Club Tortimer maybe a handful of times.

I don't think it'll be as bad as previous games, but at first there'll probably be thieves with new animal crossing players coming in. Thieves tend to be younger kids in my experience who don't get what they're doing and just think they're being funny or something and I think that'll be the only issue as long as people are careful about who they let in town.

So, if I'm not mistaken, in the direct it showed that flowers can be picked with the actual plant still in place. And that the whole plant was picked up using the shovel. So if shovels and axes can only be used by your 'best friends,' I'm assuming this means people can no longer steal flowers? (Although they may still be able to pick the flowers off of the plant without permission, this wouldn't be too much of a problem if they do in fact grow back.)

And I’m ok with this. Be a little thief, see if I care. But bet your little behind is getting banned and I still get to keep my plants. Honestly, I got over people stealing when I learned to dupe, but I’m actually worried since we aren’t sure if that’ll be an option.

PLUS the new form of inviting people to your island! you can issue a special one-time code and restrict certain features like tools and etc. this will be GREAT for doing trades and sales here in the forums!

You can still just add people to your console friends list like in the past. The code is only for being able to have people over without adding them as switch friends.

I think that the temporary dodo passcode is perfect for this. We don't need to have friend codes anymore to go visiting. Just the passcode for that person's session.

I’m actually really excited about the temporary passcodes. I had so much fun in New Leaf having random people over to my town just to hang out and play. Now it’s going to be super easy to just post your temporary code on here and be like, “My town’s open, come on over.” without having to go through the trouble of adding a bunch of people’s friend codes. That, coupled with the restrictions that prevent thieving and trolling, will make for some fun multiplayer!

That would be really fun! A few streamers I've been watching are super excited about that option too.

I never understood this. If you saved before having someone over, why wouldn't you just revert to your save after they left? You could literally give someone 1,000,000 bells and then reload your save, right?
But in this new game, it autosaves. I think only best friends will be able to take anything from your island. Probably. And becoming somebody's Best Friend would be the long con

One time a random I invited from Club Tortimer stole all of my blue roses. 12 year old me started bawling in the living room.
