Do you think there will be thieves like there was in NL?

I never understood this. If you saved before having someone over, why wouldn't you just revert to your save after they left? You could literally give someone 1,000,000 bells and then reload your save, right?
But in this new game, it autosaves. I think only best friends will be able to take anything from your island. Probably. And becoming somebody's Best Friend would be the long con

One time a random I invited from Club Tortimer stole all of my blue roses. 12 year old me started bawling in the living room.

I can't go through that trauma again.

Thieves in ACNL were such an awkward and annoying thing to deal with because you?d notice flowers or items missing and the people that you had over would just be like ?umm I don?t know where it went sorry? when they very clearly stole them. Maybe now that theres a feature that restricts people from using tools on your island, they might consider making it so only best friends can pick up certain things.

it seems like thieves won't be able to steal a flower in the sense that they can snatch a flower's bulb if it's fully grown, but the base flower is still there (which can only be removed by a shovel). and i don't think the bulb can even be used craft seeds or something to plant hybrids so they'd have a blue rose bulb and nothing to show for it. i guess since there's a whole bulb missing when you knew there was a bulb it will be easier to tell who's a thief or not. i imagine they can't pick up placed items/furniture, but if u drop something as a leaf they'll be able to pick it up for trading purposes.

It is inevitable that there will be some thievery. As long as there's trading going on without a fully fleshed out and proper system, there will be problems.

Do I think they'll be able to steal all your flowers and furniture? Probably not--unless you have them marked as a Best Friend.

They can't pick up flowers, use an axe, or use a shovel. That rules out a lot of this potential thieving.
