I hope it is, but I'm a little worried because the series has been trending more towards favouring lots of customization and control at the expense of adding depth to the characters (as in NL, HHD, and PC). If they can give a good balance by bringing us back to WW-style characters (which in my opinion is a good balance between GC's harshness and NL's blandness and gave everyone good personalities) and setting a balance of giving us a good amount of customization without going overboard and giving us too much control (which I think NL was edging towards with making us mayor), it can definitely be the best game. They should give us some of the feeling of the older games, being just a normal person starting a new life in a new town, but with a spin on it that makes it suitable for the newest entry in the series, putting in the best bits of every game and adding some great new features while keeping the core idea the same as the earlier games. I get the nagging feeling they're going to keep giving us more control and draining life out of the villagers and special characters, though, but I really hope I'm wrong.
