Do you use your real name or a new name?

I always make up a new name. Because I don't like my real name.

prior to new horizons, i rarely ever used my real name but even when i did, that character usually didn’t last long since i would always delete them lol. i used my real name for my island rep this time and i’m honestly really glad that i did! any future nh characters will have a different name, though since i only need one xara xD.

I always use a nickname, usually Rose. Giving out one's real name is a bad idea.

i've always used my own name! i've considered choosing a different name to use but i don't really know what i'd use instead - i'd probably only do it if i was creating some sort of themed island and i wanted to have more of a backstory to it than just me living on an island

I had a standard nickname but when I started ACNH it seemed wrong to have this nickname (it wasn’t a improper name or anything but it just didn’t seem good enough) then I created this new one I am using even in this forum.

For my first time playing animal crossing with city folk I used my real name but for every game after I used a new name since I wanted to play online and not give out my real name like that (and my new names are cooler )

i've been naming my character Cici since the first one, so it's sort of like a tradition for me to always name my AC villager Cici now! i very briefly went by cc/cici online for a while back but it's never been my real name.
although, i did name the one on pocket camp Corncob, which - in addition to my usual online handle - is an actual nickname i use IRL, so i guess that one was a break from form for me!
