Does anyone have a lot of villagers of a single type? What's it like?

I've just invited Bones to my island, which means I will have 4 Lazies. It's my favourite type, and I love all 4 villagers so I don't want to let any go but I'm wondering if it might get a bit boring. If you have lots of a single personality type, is there still decent variety in your interactions?

I still don't know how much villagers of the same type differ from each other.

i have 4 normals, my least favourite personality but they're sooo cute so i can't get rid of any of them

i also have 6 bears (regular and cubs) so i find that weirder than multiple of the same personality lol
 
The max amount of villager type repeats I’ll have is two. I have two normals, two snooties, and two lazies at the minute. Anymore and it’s far too repetitive which is a bummer because so many of my favourite villagers are overlapping personalities. 😔

It’s nice having two if I manage to get them in different subtypes. For example I have Diana and Whitney who are both snooties but their personalities feel different enough that I’m not constantly getting repeat dialogue. It’s not foolproof though because I think technically Sherb & Egbert aire different subtypes (or Kiki & Lolly are?) but sometimes I’ll talk to one and then the other and get the exact same dialogue.

What are the subtypes? I thought i was crazy feeling like some villagers of the same personailty type were different than the others.
 
I try to have variety, but they're are very few good looking lazies with nice houses as well. I also dislike jocks because they only talk about working out. In NL I had all diferent species and a good balance of personalities (again, no jocks, tho). Now it's not the case, I'll have 3 cubs and 2 cats most likely. And 3 will be normal.
 
I try and have a variety of personalities so the dialogue doesn’t get too repetitive. At the moment I have 2 normals, 2 snooties, 2 peppies, 2 lazies, 1 smug and an empty plot as I’m villager hunting. I don’t like the jock or uchi personalities very much so tend to avoid those. I once had 4 normal villagers but it got boring hearing the same thing over again which was annoying as a lot of the normals are really cute so it’s hard narrowing them down to which ones to keep.
 
I used to have 7 normal villagers but man it was so awful. All them just kept saying the same lines felt like I was talking to clones. I let 5 of them moved out and I tried to have a diverse of personalities. I didn't like Lazy or Jock villagers because they were not always the best fit for my liking.

Ah I’m so sorry I feel like maybe I’m going crazy? I could’ve sworn I saw a chart with all the villagers into little groups of subtypes on Tumblr! But now I can’t find it for the life of me?? If I manage to find it I’ll let you know but at the moment I can’t and when I try to google it nothing appears 😭
 
i used to have 3 lazy villagers, but i let stitches finally move out. was able to replace him with fang. the lazies are fun, but their dialogue gets insanely repetitive if you talk to them all in a day. i've also gotten the same letter from Beau and Zucker just days apart lol

I have two lazy, twonormal and two peppy now. I do feel bad for not having a jock anymore, and as soon as Katt asks to leave I probably won't have a sisterly on my island either (Unless I come across Muffy, then I'll take her and never let her leave lol) in which case, I'm fairly sure I'll either end up with another Peppy or Normal.

It's not to bad, at least from what I have. I was worried about reactions, but unless they add more then I think I'm fine. Personally I hope they don't add any personality-learned reactions anymore, so that I don't HAVE to have any jocks on my island.

It's hard because most of the villagers I love the most are lazy or peppy, but I try to keep the balance as much as I can on my island and not have more than 2 of each. Right now, I have three peppy though since Wendy moved into my empty plot. I really love her house interior but I am going to probably get her to move out next, since my twin (who shares my town) adores both Tangy and Pango.
 
I have two cranky, two snooty, one uchi, one lazy, one peppy, one normal, one smug, and one jock.

Three wolves. (Wolfgang, Fang, Vivian)
Four dogs. (Cherry, Daisy, Lucky, Maddie)
One cat. (Raymond)
One bear. (Teddy)
One kangaroo. (Mathilda) :)

It's a good balance, though cranky and snooty are my favorite. ^_^
 
I have 3 snooties and it's not that bad. They never repeat stuff they have said before, and they don't start arguments with other villagers.
 
The repeat personalities I have are 2 Jock (Genji and Sly), 2 Lazy (Hopkins and Lucky), and 3 Cranky (Elvis, Fang, and Frank). The rest are one of each remaining personality.

So far, I haven't really gotten bored or anything; I just love all of them so much (They're my dreamies, after all!), and I see each one of them as their own unique individual~

Even if they have a lot of similar dialogue to each other, there are many nuances and subtle phrases (besides their personal catchphrases, of course) that still distinguish them from the rest. At least, that's my take on it.
 
I love my normal villagers! They're adorable, and I think I might've started a town-wide book club.
 
I really like to have one of each type on my island for the sake of variety, but I’d really love to have 70% normal villagers haha. Their designs are so charming, and I love their overall sweet demeanors. I also strongly dislike most smug villagers because they seem kind of rude, so I’d totally boot mine in favor of more normals if it weren’t for my really restricting “I need to have one of each type” mindset.

That being said, I’ve got two normals and two lazies at the moment... the lazies (Ozzie and Bones) get kind of repetitive/annoying at times, but I love both of them way too much to let them go.
