I do still play, a little bit every day (gotta water all the flowers!)
At first, a little over a year and a half ago, my mind wasn't in good condition, and bad things kept happening to me and my family. (Sorry, I know I'm getting a little deep and personal here ': D ) One day, I picked it up--after at least 3-4 years of inactivity--trying to find a way to calm down...
Apparently, Animal Crossing is good for combatting rampant anxiety and depression.
Every time I accomplished something, be it ridding the town of all weeds or even making one of my villagers happy, I got a little happy. Even though things were a little dark, being able to have a routine I could stick to and complete each day made a huge difference to helping me cope with all that was happening. Every day, I'd water all of the flowers, check on my villagers, work towards finishing my encyclopedias, etc. I can honestly say that Wond World did small yet powerful wonders for my mental health. And eventually, things started getting better.
Today, I'm doing a lot better. My little brother gave me New Leaf in April last year, and I mark that around the same time things finally improved. And every day, right before I log on to New Leaf, I hop back into Wild World and water those wonderful flowers once again.
Sorry, I know that's a lot ': D Still, sometimes, it seems the right game can make all the difference.
