Does anyone still play?

I haven't played Wild World in months. I often wonder what's going on in my town, but I just never get around to checking things out.
I still go on every now and then, I played it basically from when it came out in 2006 (in EU) when I was in year 8 to around New Leaf time...because I didn't have Let's Go to the City because I didn't have a Wii! 
I enjoyed it a lot considering it was pretty lacking in content compared to the Gamecube one, which I played to death! the lack of holidays disappointed me but other than that...
Also I really liked the music...I really like the Gamecube vers. music too but a lot of people didn't seem to like WW's in light of the Gamecube music! D:

I just got back onto WW, missed it a bit hoping to get the happy home designer ^_^

I hadn't played in about 1? years and I was thinking about it tonight, so I picked it back up. I didn't care for the town name I used to use, my character's face or the hot pink roof (which was the final house upgrade). I never had the salon because I never played online, so because I had nothing to lose, I restarted! I did it about 6 times before I found a map I like, and I have awesome villagers: Maple and Stitches (my favorite cubs) and Bill. 
I guess I'll try to juggle this with my two New Leaf towns and see how it goes. LOL

I haven't played in so many years... I might pick it up again if I can find it, hehe. I am incredibly interested to see if Robin is still in my town >:]

I wouldn't either long term. The graphics and gameplay of New Leaf are just so much better than Wild World.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't think you can visit people from far away anymore. As of May this year (or maybe is was last), they disabled all Wi-Fi online connection play for the older systems such as the DS and Wii.
EDIT: Whoops, my bad, it was last May (2014). If you want the link to the official article on nintendo.com, you can find it here. I can tell you I was very disappointed that I wouldn't be able to use the GTS anymore.
Also, if you go digging a little deeper, you can find the full list of games impacted here, which lists both Animal Crossing Wild World and Animal Crossing City Folk.

Well, yeah, the graphics are bad and I was having trouble remembering how to pick up things and check my pockets, but it was still kind of fun because WW was my first Animal Crossing game.

Unless you play "locally" with someone else, you can't. Like stargate said, Nintendo shut it down over 2 years ago.
After purchasing HHD I think I buy an used copy to have a 'complete' collection of the handheld games.
I know the graphics are **** compared to today though, it's always so crazy to see that the games you used to play and love have the worst graphics.

I'm really enjoying the game again. I can get everything I need to do done in about 30 minutes, so it's easy to fit in between my two New Leaf towns.

I tried to play again, but it looks so weird compared to New Leaf.
I picked it back up the other day and couldn't stop cringing at the low qaulity in graphics compared to NL, I really put so much of my life into Wild World, even took it on holiday to Tenerife and Menorca and Majorca and Lanzarote with me, it really has clocked up alot of mileage with me, I might try and start a new town on it tomorrow and just see how bothered I can be with it.
