Does this bother anyone else?

It really kind of breaks my heart when people call certain villagers ?ugly? or ?scary.? I mean, don?t get me wrong, back when ACNL came out and I wanted to get the perfect cute town I did the same thing, but the more I played and created friendships with the animals, I can?t see any as ?ugly?or ?scary? anymore. I find each of their designs completely endearing and different, and that?s what I love about each and every one of them!

I guess it just makes me sad that it seems a lot of people refuse to give the villagers who aren?t deemed popular a chance, like Hans, Rodeo, Axel, and Baabara to name a few.

Anyone else feel this way? Like these villagers tend to be under appreciated and left to rot?

Rodeo? But he's cool. Sure he can be good for a scary themed town, what with his red eyes, but he's not scary like pee your pants scary.

Yes, it makes me sad, too. I know in my head that they are just pixels and code, but in my heart these villagers are my friends. I know it sounds sappy, but they really do make me happy with all of their goofy interactions and silly expressions. And there have been several villagers who I didn't really think I would like, but after giving them a chance I fell in love with them. An example would be Hazel. When I saw her plot and looked her up, the unibrow was initially off-putting, but I gave her a chance, like I do all villagers and I found out that I absolutely love the way her unibrow affects her facial expressions. It's very endearing. I eventually let her go because of her house placement, but I still miss her and talk to her on Main Street.

Idk, I find all of the animals cute in their own way. So I don't mind any of them.

For me personally I dont dislike any of the villagers, I just like some more than others, some I have some sentimental attatchment to such as; Alice, Pompom, and Angus as they were my first 3 villagers ever in animal crossing, which was in wild world, i think people should try and give some villagers a chance they might find something to like about them

It?s just an opinion, and a lot of villagers look like they were designed by a randomizer. Idk why people get bothered if someone doesn?t want a villager they find ugly in their town.

ooh, this is such a hard one because towns/villagers are so personal. everyone has their own playing style - some play to have the cutest possible town and some play so that their mayor develops friendships with everyone, etc. for me, it depends on a mix of aesthetics and personality. some villagers are just harder to get attached to, at least for me. but that doesn't necessarily mean i want all cute, pastel villagers either? in my opinion, characters that are all the same are boring too. so i like a bit of variety and how a character looks is just one of those factors.

I dunno this is just the reality of having a game with a wide variety of characters, people are going to dislike some of the ones that look more unique and others are going to love them for their quirkiness. For example Jambette is ugly to me, her lips and eyes are too overly exaggerated for me, it's just not what I like. On the other hand, Coco is one of my favourite characters because of her weird looking character, to me it looks cute but to others it can look ugly.

Tbh I dont really care. I usually just keep resetting untill i find someone that i like. If i find him/her, i will keep town even there is insert "ugly" villager here

The only villager I just can't handle is Barold. He looks like a creep. But then I've seen fanart of him that makes him look cute, so I don't know. Maybe if he came to my town and I gave him a chance. I used to dislike Pietro because of the whole clown thing, but now I love him and want him to stay. I guess this game is really a big lesson to not judge a book (or animal) by its cover, lol.

Not really. In the end they are just vessels for one of eight personality types; so why wouldn’t you want to have villagers that have a look that appeals to you?

This has all to do with personal taste here. The one person find this villager adorable, the other find said villager ugly. Pretty sure that there people out there who dislike popular villagers like Beau, Marshal or Whitney for their designs and find villagers like Jambette or Barold however cute. At this point, it's hard to create hundreds of villagers which everyone loves when it comes to their looks. I to be honest am also not a fan of every villager, there are in fact some I find from the design kinda weird or boring, but then again I start to even give them a chance and let them stay in my town instead of scare them away just because I'm not the biggest fan of them (at the moment, I really don't care what villagers I have in my town, everyone is basically welcome). Then again I think there are also villagers who are getting way too much hate, such as Pietro or Hippeux to name some examples.

After all, I think it's save to say that every villager has at least one fan who likes the villager the way he/she is and, of course, also one hater at the same time.

It doesn't bother me. Everyone has things they like and dislike. Just because I might dislike a villager doesn't stop it from being someone else's favorite.

I felt this way for a long time until I saw a video of someone trapping one of their villagers near the cliffs by digging holes and hitting them over and over again with a net and then I felt equal parts sad and also felt like laughing because while some villagers aren't personal faves, it's amazing to me that some people really abhor these pixels!
