Don't you think some villagers popularity is dwindling?

Oh come on... Marshal's not a marshmallow squirrel. He is just named after the colour of mashmallow. He doesn't resemble a marshmallow in any other way. He is just really, really cute to me.

He does represent a marshmallow, lol .. I don't think that's why people like him, but it's fair to say that is what he's based off of

And while Frita isn't that popular.. She is kinda creepy and not as attractive to the eye as Tangy, Merengue and Tia are.. Also, most people don't like the Uchi personality, which is another reason why she isn't popular.. The only popular Uchis are Phoebe and Mira, maybe Pashmina at a stretch

I honestly never know why Shep is popular in the first place, he doesn't look pretty great to me(same with Julian and Stitches but I already know why they're popular).
Tia's popularity is growing though IMO.

People don't seem to care about Frita a ton though, and she's french fries. So I don't get it.

I'm not really looking for an argument here.. Most people would agree he resembles a marshmallow.. Me included

And I'd say that Tangy is better than Frita, but I really really don't like Tangy.. She was one of the villagers that haunted me in WW.. Along with Tabby, Truffles, Queenie and Tiffany

I noticed Carmen the rabbit is increasing in popularity, and I really wanted her. Also, I've been seeing gala as a dreamie lately, but only after I dedicated my whole TBT profile on her (shes adorable).

Julian always sucks, mereugne looks like a pile of white and pink poo (sorry but rhinos are just eugh) and I honestly don't like Erik or Ahnka are anything special either

Yeah but I think Carmen and Gala tend to have had a steady popularity for a while now..

I love some Rhinos.. Particularly Hornsby and Spike (BE IN AC WII U PLEASE) .. But Merengue's cool, and I love Ren?e too.. And I liked Ankha, but when she was in my town I really grew attached to her, but she was never dreamy material for me, Astrid was more important.. And Erik's just epic, I love him so much

I've noticed one villager in particular that seems to have almost vanished-Muffy the uchi sheep. The first month AC:NL had been released I seen, "Muffy this", and "Muffy that" threads constantly. Now I never hear of her. ;-;

I'd say a lot of the dwindling popularity may be that the people who wanted these particular villagers have gotten them. But you know, once Harry reaches the top of the popularity chart, we'll know that New Leaf has reached its maximum life expectancy.

Maybe it's just me, but I remember a lot of hype about Fauna pre-game and early in the game. I think a lot of people were excited about deer being new to Animal Crossing, and Fauna was like the face of that excitement. These days I don't think she's quite as popular as I remember from back then, but don't get me wrong, she's still of course fairly popular. She just has to "compete" with lots of other cute normal types, I guess.

I honestly think of Stitches as a creepy frankenstein teddy bear, but that's just my opinion.
I have peanut, but I hate her to bits.
I like the deer and O'hare. I had O'hare but I tt'd him out :'c
I love Butch too. The deer are really popular, as is Merengue. I do like Merengue though, as she looks cute and I love Normals, even if I have three already c:
I liked Julian at first but then it rubbed on me that he was scary looking.
I don't get the buzz about Marshal, he looks angry and demented.

I think lucky has been less and less valuable in just ? couple of weeks. It felt like it was ? lucky hype in the beginning of oktober then the Halloween set was starting to be in store. Probably many wanted to have lucky in their Towns for Halloween but have changed theyr minds/got her by now?

Dont understand why half the villagers in the trading plaza go so high. I dont understand the hype about the majority of the deer & Stitches especially. I had Stitiches on AC LGTTC & ngl he bored me, I only played that game about a month then got bored so he was just sitting in my town for years and still is. The popularity of the wolves seems to be going up a great deal as well.

I don't mind Peanut. Had her in previous games and me and my sister made songs about her? I don't understand her popularity though, she's nothing special? neither is Merengue. Especially the fact that she's a normal.

I have been searching for Shep for AGES! I remember when I first joined this forum in August and he was all the rage but now I just stare at my computer screen thinking:

ANYWAY! I've been looking for Mira and Hugh too! It really gets on my nerves that less popular animals don't get enough screen time !

This is funny since I thought the same thing. My friend and I talked about the new deer and were picking out our favorites. EVERYONE was in love with "Doremi" (Fauna), so I was like "Okay, I think 'Peter' (Beau) is the cutest." My friend thought that "Natalie" (Diana) was the best...so there we picked our favorite deer that we wanted in our towns.

Then once the game came out, everyone wanted Beau and Diana. xD My friend was lucky enough to have her favorite deer in her town originally. I got Fauna originally and I love her, but I love Beau more by leaps and bounds. I'm glad he eventually found his way into my town too.

Stitches is adorable. Marshal is cute. Julian is fun, Peanut is also adorable. Merengue is flipping adorbs. All the deer are cute. Ankha is cool. Lolly and Rosie are sweet and Chrissy is pretty.

Come on, people. They're popular for a reason.
