Another question that's probably really stupid.. but I'm in Furrowfield area and I've literally not been able to progress in a few hours.. as in no quests from any villager whatsoever.. no story progression.. I thought maybe I have to level my base up or my character. Neither worked. I'm getting kind of bored not being given a goal.. I have nothing to work towards! Don't know if theres something I have to do to activate it... is this supposed to be normal??

So this quickly turned into a Builders 2 discussion thread so anyone who loves the game can post here! If you have questions or want to show your builds, feel free to post videos/photos. If you're curious about the game, you can come and chat about it too! I just want to see how many Builders 2 fans there are here since it seems like a very small amount of people lol.

Also, try not to spoil anything! I myself haven't even finished island 2 and some people haven't even started the game yet sooo be mindful!

As far as I know this isn't normal. I've had this happen to me in the first game but it actually ended up being my mistake...
I wish I could help but haven't played the 2nd game yet. : o

Here's a link to DQ Builders discord server, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find help (or people to play with!) more quickly! https://discordapp.com/invite/JyRPct3

Yeah it definitely wasn't normal. I watched someone's playthrough and realized I wasnt given a specific quest yet. So the game wasnt progressing me but it also wouldnt activate.. and I was already a higher level than the person in the playthrough. After a few hours of bumbling around doing nothing except play through each day and collect hearts, it finally fixed itself and gave me the quest. I dont know how cuz I didnt do anything different. It was really frustrating.. but I'm glad I didnt have to restart the game hehe. Thank you for the link! I'm sure I'll have questions that could be useful for! The game is so new here still that Google doesn't pull up a lot of answers yet :(

Could it be that the quest you had was about making your base expand or something? In the first game I remember there being this moment when they wouldn't let me progress unless I make my town reach a new level by building or adding new decorations, etc.

I'm glad you managed to resolve the issue!! Enjoy the game. <3

I don't believe so. I did wonder that at first so I leveled up my base. Nothing. Leveled up my character. Nothing. Also all my levels were much higher and my base more developed than the guy in the video. And no quests were active at all.

Do you think you'll be getting DQB2? :) It's super fun

Absolutely!!! I already have it downloaded on Switch. :3 I'm waiting for the right time to play it because I just finished the first game, so having a little break. Also I kind of wanted to try multiplayer buuut my Internet doesn't allow me to play online. : c I'm pretty sure I'll start playing by the end of August.
What have you been building so far? :3

Will you be getting the Season Pass, by the way? It's pretty great, from what I saw: there will be 4 packs of DLC, one of which will add 40 fishes, another one will add 40 recipes (blueprints?) and the other two seem pretty cool, too.

Oh yes for sure I'll be buying the DLCs! After work today I'm going to get the season pass ^_^ I'm really excited for them!

Right now I'm on the farming island. I'm building my farm! I think I'm putting wayy too much effort on it but I'm loving it! What did you build in the original game?

I can absolutely understand you with putting in too much effort, haha. It's a bit of a spoiler, I guess... but the first game has this chapter where you actually have to rebuild a castle! :3 And I spent sooooo much time on it, haha. I made a dancing hall with purple blocks, put some statues, huge doors, and surrounded the dancing hall with lots of windows. It was so funny when during one of the boss fights monsters actually broke in and... the water flooded my dancing hall. So, it turned into floating hall. : ))) I rebuilt it... but then accidentally flooded it again. =__+ Advice: always make sure water won't flood anything, haha. xD
Apart from that I spent a loooong time just making my castle look nice. I'll try to take some screenshots later today and post it. :3

Ah! I also spent a lot of time in the first chapter just making my town look nice. It's really not necessary but so much fun <3 I'm glad you're enjoying the farm, too. :3 I tried to not spoil myself and not look into any screenshots or videos from the 2nd game buuuut I accidentally saw the farm in one of the trailers - it looks so awesome! They really made the game a million times deeper.

I'll be happy to see screenshots, if you want to share. ^_^

And glad to hear you're excited for DLC!!

Sorry for taking so long!
I've made a video tour of my castle! :p
I want to work on it a bit more later, add a few rooms and do something with the upper portion of the cladding but for now here's how it is!!

P.S. I've spent such a long time figuring out how I want to do the floor. xD

Also a DQB2 player here :D it's got me so addicted it almost is not funny anymore XD

I had this happen to me recently on the 3th island (not gonna spoil or anything).
So yeah, no new quest popped up from anyone. Did a lvl up, talked to everyone, but nothing.

Eventually I ran into a group monsters and let them kill me. Then when I spawned back in base, there the quest popped up.
Malroth was supposed to give it, but he just ran along with me before :')

Maybe next time try to restart the game or let yourself be killed maybe?

Hahaha the addiction is real! (Feel free to post your builds! I love looking at people's creativity!)

That's a good tip about maybe getting yourself killed (wow, out of context, that sounds bad). I'll keep that in mind. Reloading my game didn't work for me though. I tried at least twice :( I guess it's a bug. As long as it fixes itself, it's fine I guess lol. Hoping it doesn't happen again though!

Yeah I might later! Going through the main storyline first, and I am being careful not to be to free with building on the story-lines islands, since some quest-blueprints can plop right upon your freshly made building, destroying your own hard work :')

Yeah, I went all out with designing my base on the first island and it was so frustrating having it ruined by certain things I won't "spoil" and also by enemies. So with the second town, I'm just plopping down what's necessary and I will demolish it all once I finish that island, and I'll focus on making it look nice :)

Although, couldn't you just move the blueprints? I'm wondering how they could destroy anything?

I am completely through the story already :D loved it! Now we're gonna build!

More like, some main quest blueprints are just plopped down, like "we're gonna build this right here!" without you having anything to say about it :')

Oooh man now that I've gone through the story and am ready to build! I have big, big plans. I am just figuring out how and where to start, hahaha!

Just wanted to say that the first game allows you to make a separate save file for each chapter. I'm pretty sure it should be the same in the 2nd. So, if you make a separate save file before the final battle / monsters invasion, all you've built will stay safe! :3 That's how I actually managed to save my castle because the final battle was... devastating. The monsters broke the water flow, so eeeeeverything was flooded, they broke the eastern wall of the castle and oh gosh... the battle was fierce. xD

Here's a screenshot I made from some of the previous boss battles in the first game. As you see, monsters can get nasty. xD

This probably doesn't matter anymore to you since you finished the story, but you can actually pick up the blueprints after they plop it down! You go in the material list and scroll all the way down to either last or second last option :)

And I'm so excited for you! Feel free to share your progress! :D

Oh my goodness! That's brutal! I'd be so devastated!

Also, as far as I know, you only really have 1 save slot for Builders 2. So you get 1 manual save and 1 autosave. :(

Hahaha, yeah. It was such a mess. And I couldn't even make many screenshots due to the way that battle was... the monsters were on a rampage. xD After that chapter I understood why the game would always try to make me notice the "Terra Incognita" which is basically "build without monsters" mode. If you build there - no need to worry about monsters.

Wow, really? Just 1 save? That's strange. Not sure why they made it this way. : o The first game - you can make as many as you want. It's probably because the 2nd game seems much bigger and deeper, so maybe they couldn't make the many saves work properly, who knows.

I am still thinking how I want to build my main island. Gonna level down some mountain I suppose XD

At least I made a little harbor house for mister Brownbeard :)

Yup, I tore down the castle the islanders made in my honor XD The placement was weird, not enough space and just...

My dear citizens, let me put down a blueprint for you that you can build. Don't make stuff without my say-so :'D

Yooooosh!!! I'm pretty sure my Internet problems are no more (well, they are but I found a work around that may work), sooo... I'll be playing online soon!!
