Driver's license

I just got my driver's license earlier this year. It took me 3 tries LOL. I kept making a different mistake than the one before. I've always hated driving and still do, but it's sooo much more convenient to drive and now I can't go back. I live really far from the city downtown and I need to take 3 buses and a train to go anywhere... So being able to drive cuts the time from like 2h to 30mins

I got mine and didn't use it for like 2 years. I knew I wouldn't, it was just useful to have it.

Now my job requires me to have a vehicle and it's nothing but convenient having one.
- For a start, just having a licence helped me get the job despite not driving since my lessons.
- Shopping is easier since I don't have to shop with the limitations of getting it home on foot/via public transport.
- I can just do whatever without having to plan what I'm doing around public transport working hours or the cost of taxi's.
- If I want to go somewhere, I just go. No waiting around for public transport to turn up late, no planning around extended journeys because public transport takes longer in general, no "I can't get that because I can't easily get it home".
- Public transport here charges ridiculous prices, to the point where the difference is minimal anyway if you have a regular income.

I never used to think having a car would make that much difference but now I have one, I avoid public transport at all costs. I think I've been on a bus twice since and the train a couple of times when going to a city centre , and I hated every minute.

I'm currently preparing for the writing test, but it's in french and I'm german and teached french myself, so that's extra hard, lol.
However, I actually managed to do in a example test 35 / 40 points, which means I would've succeeded the test, if it was a real one.
Next year I will try to get the "streetcode" and then I will have to start learning to drive a car.. I'm honestly already panicking about it, as I have still problems to understand french people and if I missunderstand my drivingteacher, ugh that could end bad, as I panic really easily. I personally never wanted to get a drivinglicense, it's my boyfriend who told me to get one, as he is most of the time away and I'm "stuck" at home. Also, if I want to find a work one day, I will need a drivinglicense, because I don't like public transports (I don't know why, but they make me feel like puking).. so yeah, currently I'm only walking, luckily Veterinaire, shop etc is near our home. :D

i'm not sure how it works for your country, but where i live (canada) the writing test can be taken in 25 languages including french and you can request a translator. you might be able to look into if it's available in your country too
