is it true that eating less makes you gain weight?? i never eat anything anymore but my friends tell me im going to gain all the weight i lost back once i start eating regularly again.

Sometimes it does. Your body works to conserve more energy (aka fat) if you try to starve yourself, so less weight loss. Eating smaller portions multiple times throughout the day can help keep up your metabolism.

You can always exercise if you want to go back to eating regularly. You'll either gain muscle weight, which boosts metabolism, or keep weight off.

I'm pretty sure. If your body gets used to eating less and then you suddenly start eating more, you'll gain the weight back. That's why dieting is kind of a bad idea, if you want to eat healthier, it's good to make small, slow, and more permanent changes.

Although I'm not a medical expert so take that with a grain of salt.

I think they are referring to binging but then that's only if you're hungry and been starving yourself. If you're just eating til you're full~ you're fine. :)

yes, it does make you gain weight. if you stopped eating and you eat again, you would be a normal size. "normal" has been tampered by society to be seen as skinny, but normal is not that at all. you'd gain more weight if you stopped eating than if you went on a diet with healthy foods tbh.

I think so, because of a gum disease I barely ate anything for 9 months and gained lot of weight.

I think it might depend on the person. I used to starve myself for 2-3 days then binge eat and repeat. (I don't do that anymore and I'm fine now.) I was losing a lot of weight doing that. Then I started eating one bag of chips a day and that was it. Once again I lost weight doing that too. When I started eating regular my weight didn't change.

Eating less can make you gain weight in the fact that it can lower your metabolism to a point where you burn less than before.

If you really want to lose weight, eat a little bit less, and eat more often. This'll keep your metabolism high while also lowering your calorie intake.

Just eat when you feel that it is reasonable. Treat yourself now and again too, it's not a bad thing.

"eating less" typically won't make you gain weight, but eating very little and having big breaks between eating can have an effect on your metabolism. You'd still lose weight, not gain it, if you don't eat, you don't gain weight but when you start eating normally again weight will be gained very quickly and it's hard to lose weight after that, due to the messed up metabolism.

If you're trying to lose weight and not permanently **** up your metabolism, eat, and eat a healthy diet (and often, that's the main issue, eat often, even if you only eat a little). Seriously, just not eating much will cause metabolism issues for years after eating normally again.

Do not fast. What ever you do and whatever Tumblr says, fasting is not the effective way to lose weight and is the most unenjoyable methods of doing it. By it i mean something that doesn't even work. Like mentioned previously, eat more frequently; For example like 5 meals a day but small ones just to keep consistency and then your metabolism wont suffer from the drastic and sudden changes in consumption behavior.

I think it's a solid rule of thumb to never take life advice from tumblr.

I don't eat very much generally, I never have had a big appetite since my teens, I have one meal a day and do a lot of exercise since I like toning up. Never hurt my metabolism any and I've done it for at least 15years now. I still have a couple of weeks holiday a year where I just eat what I want to (not eating all day I don't mean) and never put the weight on. A kg at best.
The best thing you can do is keep yourself active and eat a bit now and then through the day. when I used to work really long hours, I was able to get away with a take away every night the week....just because I was so active all day long. Again, I was very slim. And it's certainly not because I'm naturally like that, I struggled with my weight massively when I was much younger. Every person is different but don't go starving yourself and thinking that will do you any good, you need to find something you can live with (like I can live on one meal a day with no problem). Something you can stick to

uh, the thing w diets is that you need to permanently change it, like, if you want to go down a few kilos you might need to cut back on sweets and stuff but when you've achieved your goal weight and start eating like you used to there's a risk that you'll gain weight again.
so it's a good idea to find something that works for you, to not overeat, to eat regularly and healthy and to exercise lmao.

Yeah, if you suddenly stop eating properly then your body will start reserving energy. Suddenly start eating big portions again and you'll put on weight.

Just take it slowly, monitoring your calories and all will be well.

Please, though, if you are not fat then do not diet! A bit of fat on your body is healthy as long as you're not morbidly obese or anything. :p Also, just mentioning, BMI tests don't account for muscle.

I think from experience, it only makes you gain more quickly if you eat a quantity of food that is more than the "less amount" you've been regularly consuming.
