Resident Night Mare
Sorry I didn't get a post up on Wednesday; work is getting more busy, and I didn't have a chance to sneak away. But, since I've passed Creepy Lyle's theme challenge in Hollowyn (with Emerald, anyway. not really planning to for the others), I thought I'd start showing the house off. There is still some work to do, but the general idea is in place.
Best place to start is in the main room, right? After all, it's the first thing you see when you walk in.

We'll start from the back and work forward. This is the back left corner. I'm using ranch furniture that I've refurbished in white, but I still have a few Pavé items up - the clock and the carpet you can see here. It actually goes fairly well, so I may keep the clock. That's the yellow certificate on the wall, which helps with Feng Shui.

Here's the back right corner. I did have the Pavé bed in the corner, but pulled that because I don't want this to be a bedroom-type room. The dresser and the wardrobe are more utilitarian, especially in this series, so I think they work. Purrl's and Blanca's pics are on the dresser, and Antonio and Anabelle sit on the table. Oh, and my handy dandy trash bin. Sorry this one is blurry.

Moving to the front right corner, I've got the bookcase and a couple of plants. I did have a virtual-boy in the corner, but didn't like the look of it, so I may use that in a different house.

And completing the circle, here is the front left of the room. That's the Pavé lamp behind the armchair. Like I said, I think the two series work together, and I don't think ranch has a lamp, so it'll likely stay. I wish you could put items on the hutch, but I usually see it from the back, so I guess it's all right.
There's the main room. I'll probably do the back room next, since it's also complete. And you've already seen the upstairs green room.
In other news, T.I.Y. is open and functioning in Hollowyn. It actually opened Tuesday, but I didn't get to play until late, so I missed it. I got my mannequin from Gracie, so that collection is complete. I'll pick up some clothing, but I can't really say I like the furniture too much. The princess series wasn't bad, and the cards were okay (they'd be fun in a themed room/house, but not so much for my towns), but the Gracie series is not at all attractive, IMO. I'll eventually buy them so I can catalog them, but that will be far down the road.
Still planting trees and bushes in both towns, and I'm still on the hunt for a tarantula in both towns. I'm determined to get them, though.
The only other real news is that there has been a ton of rain. I guess the bulletin boards weren't lying when they said we'd be having a rainy season this June!
