As far as I understand, the gift in the US (from Target) isn't a pre-order bonus, rather, a free gift with purchase. If you ordered from there, I imagine as long as you pick your order up early enough, you should get the notebook.

I went to Target's website in the US and see no such gift/bonus... What gives?

A quote from Animal Crossing World (Justin) on the matter:

Technically speaking, we believe that this item will actually be a ‘Gift with Purchase’ in Target-speak, not an actual pre-order bonus. Theoretically this means that you could just walk in on release day and receive the item, no pre-order required. We’ll have to wait for official details to be certain though.

Exactly when this pre-order bonus will be officially announced remains a mystery, but we’re certain that this item is definitely in the works. Stay tuned for more information soon!
