Love him or hate him, he is trying to help her and everybody with this disorder/ diet problem.

This girl really needs help, not only for herself but for the people she is encouraging as she has many fans who look up to her as role model.

straight up did not realize it was onision til like 5 mins in wtf he looks different

but anyways.. i have seen eugenia before, my friends and i have talked about it and how shockingly skinny she is. her clothes literally fall off her. to be honest, i don't know how the girl is alive. she's a literal walking skeleton and that's terrible. do i think she needs help? yes. but onision thinks it's so easy. he always kept saying throughout the video 'ur influencing ur young female audience, u need to stop' like as far as i know eating disorders are very difficult to get past, yet he makes it sound so simple.

obv this girl needs help but it's not just like 'ok i'm gonna just stop' it's gonna take time for her if she chooses to start eating more.

If someone could tl;dr the video that'd be great because I refuse to watch anything by Onision.

Just going off what Hopeless said though, if he thinks someone can get over any disorder by having people look up to them then he's a ****ing idiot but it's not like that's news. Pressuring someone into "stopping" an illness is definitely not the way to go and if anything it'll just make matters worse.

he basically showed a ton of photos from fans wishing her to get well, and said a lot of she really needs to look into seeking help bc not only is she at risk of killing herself bc of it but her influence on younger fans is really something to take into consideration. i can see where he's trying to come from, but you're right, forcing someone to seek help with any type of illness usually never ends well.

I don't think he is saying it is simple nor is he implying it, but I do see how people can get confused.

I'm sure he knows its difficult and I'm sure he understands it can be a long journey to recover, even if he hasn't experienced it himself, it is pretty obvious common sense.

I'm bad at explaining things, sorry.

Hopefully this doesnt turn into a discussion about Onision and rather the person and people at hand.

Please support her if you possibly can, by sending positive advice to persuade her to help herself.

Please and thank you.

Yeah like, of course this is probably different for others but for me personally as well as most people I've talked to, when people bring up my issues and go "but what about your friends/family?" it only makes me feel worse. Wanting someone to seek and get help is one thing but when others are brought up with the notion of "you have to get better for them" it only adds to the pressure and adds feelings of "I'm letting them down". I can't imagine it's any different with "but what about all these thousands of fans who look up to you?"

Another thing: I really don't think publicizing someone's illness so much is the way to go either. If you truly want to help someone, talk to them privately instead of showcasing their problems in a video for hundreds of thousands of people to see. All that tells me is "I don't really care about this person, but if I make a video that says 'help them' I'll probably rak€ in mi??ion$ of th€s€ $w€€t vi€w$".

I actually watched some of her videos a while back. Looking at her more recent ones, her figure is definitely more skeletal. I think maybe it has something do with the fact that her mom is no longer there to regulate her diets?

as someone who's recovered from an eating disorder, i'll say that getting over one is not simple or easy. it takes years, and it definitely can't be fixed by people telling you to just get over it. i agree that her influence on her fanbase (especially young impressionable girls) could cause people to get hurt (even though thats not her intention) i really hope she gets help.

He mentions at the start of the video that it isn't for drama or attention, but only for addressing the issue because he wants to send message and to support Eugenia and others who suffer from this condition.

you can send a message by messaging the person in private. not making an 8 minute video showcasing her mental illness and telling her 500 times to seek help for herself or for her fanbase.

He said it so it must mean it's true.
All of Onision's videos are for attention, but anyways this isn't about Onision so I'll stop mentioning the dirtbag.

She needs help and I hope her fans don't actually take to eating less but even if they do, she's not to blame and she shouldn't be scrutinized for the actions of her fan base. She isn't a babysitter and she is not responsible for people taking their role-model view of her to the extreme.

He has previously, but she continuously states she's "fine" and I guess he thought he needed other people to get through to her.

I think it could have been handled differently too.

I'm going to stop talking about him and rather the people at hand.

Agreed. I actually suffered from eating disorder as well and people shouting at me to eat something actually made it worse. Even more so, my desire to be stick thin derived from the girls I saw on tumblr, youtube, ect. So I can only imagine that there is a enormous amount of young girls starving themselves in order to look like Eugenia.

oh yeah, im sure he did it from the good of his heart....instead of privately messaging her, he makes a public video for everyone to pay attention to and to watch her like they suddenly care for her health.

Idk if it's just me or not but there's something disgusting about someone online being concerned with a girl that they don't know and trying to "save her" when they don't know her personally or how she'd even feel about these videos. Clearly the girl needs help and I am sure she is fully aware of that. I'm sure everyone around her irl is fully aware. You can't not look at her and see there is a problem with her eating habits. I don't know but these kind of videos come off as insincere and like the person just wants to feel good about themselves. Like this is their way of doing a good deed. It reminds me of those people that take pictures of themselves helping homeless people and posting it online so everyone will know about the nice thing they did.

But then part of me feels like she put herself out there on the internet and this should be expected. :l

I'm not a fan of Onision, not at all actually. However, I think his intent with this video is genuine, I get the feeling he actually does care about her, at least somewhat.

Of course he didn't go about it the right way, not at all, but then again, there's no right way to go about this type of thing. He probably doesn't understand that his video won't help, nobodies video will, friends and family won't help, mental illnesses aren't cured by people making videos saying they care, or by saying you're about to die, it'll likely make things worse, I know from my own experience that that type of thing isn't always beneficial. I'm sure he said he tried to private message her, but she brushed it off (as to be expected). I have my own opinions, but it's not really worth saying, however, the thought that people are most likely profiting from her being ill is disgusting.

One of her videos showed up in my recommendations once with a pretty misleading title and the only thing I took away from that is:
1) I thought the video was **** (which is irrelevant)
2) It probably doesn't help the obvious weight issue when I looked through the comments section out of curiosity to see 90% of them were comments about her weight saying "she's fine", "some people are just thin", "some people have a fast metabolism". A few jokes as well obviously, but the amount of defense was far far larger.

I mean, yea, some people are just thin, but friggin' hell, c'mon...

I don't know whether it's people just trying to white knight defending her feelings or people purely being that damn stupid, but there's a point where coddling can be as damaging as hostility.

well, the way he was saying it sounded kind of like it to me.. basically i wasn't trying to turn the conversation into onision, my point is that there's people out there who think that stopping an eating disorder is so easy when in reality it's extremely difficult. it just sounded like he was reiterating the same thing over and over - 'you need to try to get better because your fans are worried about you' kind of thing when i'm sure she isn't even meaning to purposely hurt herself to begin with, she just thinks that it's normal. i'm bad at explaining as well, i hope that i'm making sense. probably not because i'm an idiot but yeah.
