Eugenia Cooney. (#HelpEugeniaCooney)

Agreed. I actually suffered from eating disorder as well and people shouting at me to eat something actually made it worse. Even more so, my desire to be stick thin derived from the girls I saw on tumblr, youtube, ect. So I can only imagine that there is a enormous amount of young girls starving themselves in order to look like Eugenia.

definitely. it never really "went away" completely for me, just seeing someone that thin makes me want to stop eating for a while. things as simple as those unhealthy juice cleanses or even trying to follow a diet regime and bring up/develop habits that eventually surface as an eating disorder. the tiniest little things or body self-awareness can rouse an eating disorder, so im certain theres girls who went back into bad habits or started new ones with eugenia as an example. even though i know she looks very unhealthy, theres the small part of my brain trying to tell me to look like her, and that message is being reached to many susceptible young minds... not saying thats her fault, but that through keeping this up, she is inadvertently rousing eating disorders. she needs help, she needs to recover, and it would be a very long and difficult process, but it needs to be said- eugenia is not a healthy person, she is not a good body role model. anyone who comes to her channel needs to be completely aware that that is not what a healthy person looks like, that is not what someone needs to look like, and that whatever eating habits lead to her looking like that are not good eating habits.

i have hypermetabolism, and at the point her metabolism was starving her that severely, any person who wasnt intentionally starving themselves would be trying to treat it + shed spend most of her between the bathroom and the kitchen- fast metabolisms are very inconvenient to manage, and i see no effort to manage it being done. eating disorders come in many forms, certainly, but you cant convince me there isnt intentional starving being done here.

I'm a tiny bit confused as to what we're supposed to do. Just keep telling her to stop or something? Because if so, that's only gonna make matters worse for her. She needs professional help, not a bunch of random strangers from all across the Internet.

anything by onision triggers me, but i thought this was already a thing, didn't it blow over a while ago

No because she's gotten a lot Skinner than when it first started.

It hurts to see such a nice and positive person so close to the edge. I feel like her message of always be kind and positive is out shined by her weight problem.

I absolutely loathe Onision in every conceivable way, but even if I didn't, as others have said, trying to force people to get help for stuff (especially using social media pressure) isn't helpful. People need to do stuff in their own time.

1. onision is a piece of **** idc if jes trying to "help" someone lol hes crap

2. this girl can handle her stuff on her own she doesnt need a bunch of kids on the internet telling her she has an ed and needs to get help omg

3. this is Just for the drama. dont think ppl actually are like "Yo i wanna help this girl hhhmmm i know wat 2 do!" n then proceed to do this. lol.

4. did i mention that that onion guy is a dickhead and that he sucks

Okay so I'm clear the Onion Guy = scum, and the image in the OP shows someone in need of professional help in my opinion. I gather she makes videos on YouTube or something, is that what she's famous (?) for? Is that stuff related to her appearance or just incidental? Sorry, I'm not clicking the video and I don't really want to search for info if someone here could fill me in lol.

i didnt watch the video either but basically yes, onision is The Worst so using him as a reference or source isnt a good idea lol.

and eugenia is internet famous idk she does emo look youtube videos or something like that hahhahah. she is really skinny but it's nothing she talks about a lot in her videos, tho the comment section is (and has been for a long time) filled w stuff like "ur anorexic !!", " get help!!!" and "u r 2 skinny"

her videos arent abt weight i think they're just more uh general vlogs and emo stuff lmao.

and onision is probably just looking for a way to start drama and crap on someone. dude's like, 35 or something , shoudlnt he have grown out of this .......

Yeah like, of course this is probably different for others but for me personally as well as most people I've talked to, when people bring up my issues and go "but what about your friends/family?" it only makes me feel worse. Wanting someone to seek and get help is one thing but when others are brought up with the notion of "you have to get better for them" it only adds to the pressure and adds feelings of "I'm letting them down". I can't imagine it's any different with "but what about all these thousands of fans who look up to you?"

Another thing: I really don't think publicizing someone's illness so much is the way to go either. If you truly want to help someone, talk to them privately instead of showcasing their problems in a video for hundreds of thousands of people to see. All that tells me is "I don't really care about this person, but if I make a video that says 'help them' I'll probably rak? in mi??ion$ of th?s? $w??t vi?w$".

Exactly. When you're dealing with something like that you can barely think about yourself let alone consider how everybody else will be coping with it. Speaking from personal experience of having some major health issues, that kind of thing has never been useful to me. People can be supportive in other ways.
I don't suppose he meant any harm. But I wish he had thought more about what he was doing/saying and how it can be perceived.
