As the title says, what is your favorite environment for listening to music? Do you like to listen to it alone in your room? Maybe you enjoy music more listening to it with groups of people at a party. I like to listen to it during work to relieve some stress, but I think my favorite environment is listening to it in the car. Something about the wind blowing in your face while having your favorite music playing just feels amazing. Even in the fall/winter if I can't have the windows down just watching the snow and leaves fall with music is also very soothing. What's yours?
Mine has to be whenever I’m preparing for an exam or drawing. Like when I listen to soothing 60s and 70s along with stressful maths :/. When I’m drawing, the music seems to flow like the streaks so it’s nice
Pretty much everywhere I can. Music really focuses my mind and calms me down when I’m anxious. I’ll listen to a song a lot if I’m learning to play it. I’ll also listen while I’m playing it to so that I play it correctly because I hate metronomes. I’ll listen to music without words while I’m studying. Lately my roommates been playing k pop in the car to annoy me and I end up just singing along to it which is embarrassing, but I secretly love it. I just love music lol.
Admittedly, I'm not a big fan of the beach, but listening to music while I'm there (or pool, if there are no screaming kids OTL) is very relaxing to me.
I think mine has to be in the car as well, especially late at night with the windows down. My best friend and I are into the same kind of music and we would have these nights where he'd just drive us around for hours (usually through scenic routes) blasting the music (especially if it was a favorite/relevant song) and getting in our feels haha, but those were always really nice
interesting question. tbh I don't really care where I listen to music. it's a big part of my life (I'm a music major after all) so I'm always "listening" to music, whether it's a song stuck in my head or I'm playing it on a stereo.
I have found, since getting my license, that playing music while driving is really fantastic. I make my own mix CDs and play them in my car, mostly 80s stuff. it's especially nice on a cooler day. even today it was a bit rainy but it was nice and cool outside so I put my windows down as much as I could without getting wet, and cranked the radio. fun times!
Ooo good question. I love concerts and just listening to music alone in my room at night, but listening to it while driving might be my favorite too. Sometimes I'll go for a drive just to play an album or make my car listen to my playlists.
I like to listen to something while working at my desk or doing chores. It helps me get through the task easier. Especially those lo-fi channels or soundtracks to games I like. I do have a few albums I listen to in the car but it gets boring if I keep the same ones in for a while so I switch them every so often.
I definitely enjoy listening to music when I'm in my room just chilling or drawing at night. Probably the best thing about the weekends for me when I don't have anything to do at night.
I always have music playing in the car. They just go together well.
I fall asleep to classical music every night. It can be energetic, but the station tends to play softer pieces at night.
Have to listen to music when I'm writing. I have a playlist of instrumental pieces - soundtracks, mostly, and a pair of good, over-the-ear headphones to drown everything else out. I've used the same tracks for so long, they have specific meaning. "Jack Dawson's Luck" is perfect word war music and "Buckbeak's Flight" is great for sweeping, dramatic scenes.
When I was in university, I looped the entire Attack on Titan OST while working on assignments and studying for exams. It really got me in a state of flow.
I listen to classical music or jazz while driving. It keeps me grounded when people cut me off, don't use their turn signals, etc.
When I used to commute via the train to the office in a previous internship, I listened to hype music, like the RWBY soundtrack or English covers of anime OPs.
I love listening to music in the car. It helps drown out the road noises and when I'm leaving work or somewhere stressful and I get in my car and a favorite song comes on the radio, it's just the best feeling.
Other than that, I will listen to music while I'm working or writing sometimes. It helps me focus and gives me a separate space. I'm very introverted, so sometimes at work it helps just to put in my earbuds because people are less likely to come over and interrupt me. I have lots of different types of music so I can listen to something upbeat and fast if I need to get myself pumped up or something slow and relaxing if I'm stressed and need to calm down.
I mainly love listening to music in my room when alone. It makes it more enjoyable because I'll just start dancing and start singing along to my favorite songs without even thinking.
Music also keeps my mind off of everything and just being myself when listening to it makes it a lot better, especially since I can never be myself when with family.
Anywhere that's quiet. Noise can be distracting when listening to music as I'm unable to tune people/sounds out especially if someone talks to you irl and you have to keep pausing it...
I really enjoy listening to music alone at night in my room music calms me down and being alone means It’s quiet and I can listen to it without being interrupted :’)
I commuted to school by bus in highschool and college and would take 6-9 hour bus rides back to my family through college as well, so commuting has always been my favorite time to listen to music cause it was a time when I could justify listening to music over doing something more productive. Theres just something really comfortable about tuning the world out and listening to music while watching the scenery change out the window. But otherwise I love listening to calm piano or guitar tracks while studying too since I find it hard to concentrate in complete silence.
might be a bit boring but my absolute favourite is listening to music in my room at night after everyone’s gone to bed. i won’t have any responsibilities and nobody will be expecting anything of me and so, i get to enjoy myself 100% and just vibe
but an honourable mention is while taking the bus!! i don’t know what it is but listening to music and minding your own business while still having company of some kind feels nice c’:
Lol, I don’t really care about where I listen to music. If there’s something I want to listen to I look it up and listen to it.
That being said, as someone who doesn’t listen to music that often and isn’t really interested in it, I usually just listen to things I know I’ll like.
