Pokémon Favorite Fire Starter Pokémon

Which fire starter Pokémon is your favorite?

My favorites are Fennekin and Litten. Foxes are my favorite animals and it was no wonder that I already made my decision when Gen 6 got announced and the starter of this Gen were presented back then. I found Fennekin when I saw it for the first time just adorable and I definitely wanted it as my starter. But I have to admit, I like it's evolution Braixen much more, Delphox is also ok though.

Litten on the other hand became my favorite because I love cat Pokémon in general and I just really like it's final evolution Incineroar, because it's a cool looking Pokemon and also my current all time favorite Pokemon.

There are some really neat fire starters, I?m gonna have to go with Chimchar as my favorite with Cyndaquil in close second. I like Litten but not a fan of its evolutions becoming bipedal and Fennekin is also pretty cool but (at least in my X/Y run through) it wasn?t very strong and I constantly got frustrated with how tough it was to train and battle with even when it went up against Pok?mon 10 levels lower than it, that was the first time I didn?t complete a game with my starter. Oops, turned this into a rant sorry

Cyndaquil, because of my experiences with Silver when it came out. I originally picked Chikorita, but I was having such a hard time. Restarted my game and picked Cyndaquil and instantly fell in love with how much easier he made the game for me.

Cyndaquil and Torchic are my faves! But tbh I love most of the fire starters, I think I picked the fire starter for every gen except 5 and 7.

Out of the fire starters Torchic just steals the show for me (gotta admit I don't really like Blaziken though). Looking at this made me realize I don't care much for the fire starters in general haha Charmander and Cyndaquil are all right though.

Torchic is superior.

Torchic is not only ridiculously cute, but he turns into blaziken, which is one of my favorite Pok?mon.

I like Torchic and Chimchar a ton. Both are equally my favorite fire starters.

This one is tough, as there isn't one I dislike, but it's also not among my favorite types either.

The Charmander line have quite a bit of verstaility in their movepool, Charizard has a fantastic shiny and two Mega Evolutions, and for whatever reason I've always had a soft spot for Charmeleon.

The Cyndaquil line looks nice, Typhlosion is reasonably powerful with Eruption, and they get some points for sticking with standalone Fire-typing throughout the whole line.

The Torchic line get some points from me for being birds and, while Blaziken leaves a bit to be desired in terms of appearance, it's quite superb considering its stats, typing, Mega Evolution, and access to Speed Boost.

The Chimchar line gets some points because monkeys were, at one point, my favorite type of animal before it switched over to birds. Infernape isn't as great as Blaziken but has access to Iron Fist, which I like to take advantage of with the elemental punches.

I happen to be one of the few people who likes Emboar. It's not that great, but it's good enough for me, and the blue flames on its shiny variation are a very nice touch.

I'm a fan of the Fennekin line being a reference to mages, considering the "wand" and the robelike fur on Delphox. The silver color of their shiny variation is fantastic as well.

The Litten line is great for me since I like cats and have been known to have been interested in professional wrestling at points in my life (though it generally sucks nowadays.) Incineroar being a heel wrestler is great. The shiny is terrible and the Alolan starters are all slow, so it's not all sunshine and rainbows, but I still like it.


I'm going to have to go with the Charmander line, I think. There's enough there to like about it that cover up its weaknesses to a sufficient degree to beat out the rest. The rest are all difficult to rank, though Tepig would probably be on the bottom of the list.

Cyndaquil has always been my favorite, although I've picked by far more fire starters than any other type. I love pretty much all of them besides Tepig (sorry little dude, I'd like you better if you were Fire/Ground) and Fennekin (you'll never be Victini so just stahp). Gamefreak just always seems to get it right with the fire starters, it's uncanny lol

Fennekin! I also really like Tepig, Charmander, and Litten, but Fennekin has a special place in my heart because Pokemon X was the first ever main series Pokemon game I ever played, and Fennekin was my starter.
