So I'm currently fielding a Sinnoh-themed team for my Ultra Sun playthrough (currently on Poni Island), and I'm going to be using it for the rest of the playthrough, and possibly online as well. It consists of,

Infernape (100)

Roserade (68)

Milotic (68)

Garchomp (68)

Spiritomb (68)

Togekiss (68)

Which brings the question up, which generation of Pok?mon so far was your favorite? I know some people have 1st gen as their favorite, and some people have say, generation three as their favorite, so please be civil in this thread in deciding this. I'll also have a poll up for convenience (if you don't feel like posting, lol).

Johto 100%
No region have even gotten close, the remakes were great too.
I'd take a Switch Johto remake over Gen 8 any day.

Tie between sinnoh or unova I'd say, johto I'd also bloody great.

Also isn't feebas from hoenn

Sinnoh is my favourite region, closely followed by Hoenn.
Sinnoh has such lovely music, and overall a great game
Love to gamble at the mauville gaming corner on GBA

In terms of the games themselves, I feel like the games of Generation II and V were the strongest, with VI and IV being just behind. Not a fan of R/S/E or anything from Generation VII.

Avast ye insults towards Hoenn! Such lovely landscapes and inspiration, and bathing in the hotsprings with elderly ladies- what's not to love?!

Gen 2. Added so much more, awesome Pok?mon, that silly furniture MG stuff, two regions in one, fun glitches etc. Yeah boi. Also been loving Umbreon since OG gold/silver games.

HG/SS were da bomb but yeah not gonna try getting it today for the insane prices.

The first game I ever played was both Red and Blue Versions, however, I have to say as much as I've enjoyed Pokemon since the beginning, I absolutely LOVE Generation 2 the most. The two biggest things for me was how massive the in game world was for the time and the new Pokemon combined with the ability to collect the first 151.

Enjoying the poll results and conversation. A quick update on my Sinnoh team in Ultra Sun:

Roserade (Rose) level 48

Spiritomb level 48 [GTS]

Feebas (Milo) level 49

Garchomp [EVENT] level 55

Togekiss (Token) level 55

Infernape (GEN) level 100

Also, I have a prism scale being held by my Feebas now, so if someone could trade with me twice so I can have him as a Milotic, that would be awesome (and very much appreciated). :D

I said Alola, although take my vote with a grain of salt because I've only played through Alola, Kalos, and Johto.

I've known Pokemon since the first and second generations, yet I like the 7th generation the best.

Gen 2 was my favourite growing up. I loved Johto and revisiting it in the remakes was fantastic. I preferred it over Gen 1 because I could visit both regions on one cartridge!

Gen 3 I enjoyed, and spent a lot of time playing, but in hindsight I didn't like it nearly as much as Gen 1+2.

At first I didn't like Gen 4, and dropped my copy of Diamond within three hours on the launch date. I went back to it a couple of years later after I left high school and fell back in love. So Gen 4 I look back on fondly. I remember I was playing the post-game of Diamond when my parents got me Platinum for Christmas. And I clocked up over 80hrs on it within a month.

I disliked Gen 5, giving up with the games around the third gym. I really liked the graphic overhaul in Gen 6 but it's not really a favourite. I stopped playing Gen 6 after the Elite 4.

I am loving Gen 7. I've been playing these games since 1999 and I felt it was such a welcome change to the series. Once I got past the gyms being replaced with island trials, that is. It was a hurdle!

That's a really round about way of answering the question. I guess my favourite overall is Gen 2 although right now Gen 7 is a really strong contender. Let's see how it passes the nostalgia test in a few years.

Weird, I am the only one to vote Kanto so far. Gen 1 is always going to be my favorite. The anime got me into Pok?mon and my first game was Yellow. It also has a lot of my favorite Pok?mon like Butterfree, Gyarados, and Charizard. I also like Hoenn because Cacturne and Flygon are awesome and Emerald was really fun with the Battle Frontier and Teams Magma and Aqua.

Update! I defeated Team Rainbow Rocket as well, and am traveling through the rest of Poni Island now as well. My team's levels on the first page are updated. Keep the responses coming! Love hearing the community's feedback. :D

Johto 100%

That doesn?t answer the question. GSC are Gen II games whilst HGSS are Gen IV games, and a Switch remake of Johor would be generation 7+. There?s much more to a generetion, not just the Pok?mon introduced.

My favorite would be Gen 4. It?s what got me back into Pok?mon after I fell off during Gen III, the new Pok?mon were great, plus the Sinnoh games were really good, as were HGSS. Even the spin offs during the fourth generation we?re great. I spent countless hours on PMD: Sky, and PR: Shadows of Almia was one of the first games I 100%?d so Gen 4 means a lot to me.
