I would vote both Gen 2 and Gen 3. My number one favorites are both the Moon Ball and Timer Ball. The Moon Ball is perfect for dark and ghost types, which are my favorites. The Timer Ball has both a cool exterior design and release animation.
Other favorite designs are the Premiere, Luxury, Lure, and Beast Balls. When I was still breeding competitive Pokémon in gen 7, I, most times than not, tried to breed them specifically to be kept in one of those 6 designs.

Since Gen 4 was the generation that got me into Pokemon I am going to go with the "Quick Ball" It made it so much easier to catch Pokemon at full health.

I was trying to remember if they had a release animation since I was pretty sure that was part of the reason I liked the dusk ball and timer ball as well. Tysm for reminding me ☺️. You have excellent taste too! 🙂

Probably the dream ball just based on aesthetic as I love the color pink LOL. Buuuut the upcoming new pokeballs in the new game look really neat, so maybe that will change? For similar reasons to the dream ball I also love the love ball

I will go for the Dive ball! My favorite type of Pokemon is water, so that's pretty fitting. 😁
I wouldn't say no to a collectible of it..

Went with Gen III here. I remember stocking up to get premier balls because I loved the all-white design compared to classic. Luxury balls complemented them nicely too with their mostly red/black design, and who could say no to the boosted friendship bonus?

I think I'd say that my favorite is the Moon Ball. The crescent moon with the half blue/half black color scheme representing day and night is awesome. I'd totally make the Moon Ball my dedicated Ball and use it for a full team if it was reasonably possible to not only have many of them in the modern games, but also be able to breed everything, including starters, to have them. Unfortunately, neither of those are the case (as far as I know, didn't care for Sword & Shield).

Here's my Top 10:

1) Moon Ball: See above.
2) Luxury Ball: It has a nice color scheme, and its effect on raising friendship is great. In a general sense, since the Moon Ball and other apricot Balls are more elusive, the Luxury Ball is my favorite Ball that's easily acquired.
3) Beast Ball: I just love the design.
4) Quick Ball: It can make capturing general Pokémon fast and easy and can dramatically cut down on the hassle when trying to capture Legendary Pokémon. It also has a fairly nice color scheme and design. Just an all-around nice Ball.
5) Love Ball: It's cute.
6) Heavy Ball: Something about the blue orbs on the gray Heavy Ball just looks pleasing to my eye, couldn't tell you why though. Kind of weird too, since I'm not that much of a fan of the pink ones on the purple Master Ball when those are two of my three favorite colors. Dunno.
7) Dusk Ball: Not very aesthetically pleasing, but I can't argue with its catch rate at night and/or in caves. I also love the dark light it has when you send a Pokémon out as opposed to other Balls.
8) Timer Ball: Helpful for particularly long and difficult captures and the little clock animation it does when you send out a Pokémon is nice.
9) Repeat Ball: I like that it's just a regular Poké Ball but with the addition of the yellow and black circles, something about it just looks nice. Its boosted catch rate for any species you've already captured before is also fantastic.
10) Friend Ball: It looks nice enough and the instant 200 friendship it bestows upon capture is awesome.

In terms of new Balls per generation, I'd say Gen II is my favorite. Gen III and Gen IV both have great selections of new Balls as well, but Gen II was and is just the best.

As a group, Gen 4’s selection is my favorite. Each design stands out from the last. In terms of individual Pokéballs the fast ball and repeat balls are my favorites. I’m just a sucker for orange and yellow color schemes.

I don't know why, but I'm particularly fond of Premier Balls. They don't even have anything special, yet I like them a lot. I use them for pkmn that are one-time-in-the-whole-game (Sudowoodo, Rotom, etc.).
And Luxury Balls, I rarely use them because I always keep them for special pkmn (mostly shinies or legendaries).

I really love the look of the dream ball but I don't remember actually using it. So other than that, maybe just the plain ol Poké ball.. It's iconic
