The new furniture items are so cute! Here is a quick list if you haven't seen them yet..

A new food came out called Olivier Salad and when I saw it I literally flipped- IT IS MY FAVOURITE SALAD! And among my favourite foods. Thing is I was so excited because it is kinda a Russian-only New Year's food (though it is originally French haha). So the chance of it being added were low. It is surely my favourite!

The other items except the arch are all Asian, mainly Japanese. I am excited for these too as they are nice to use in Japanese towns and areas!

What is your favourite new item? Are you as surprised as me?

I love that since we can hang things on our doors now I can have my villagers put up shimekazari so that it looks like what I see in real life here in Japan

i definitely agree with the olivier salad - i've never had it before, but i love how it looks and salads in general are just a favourite of mine. i love food items in this game, especially with my cafe ideas coming back into play once i figure out more of my museum exterior, and they're going to be wonderful additions

Of them all, I bought multiple kadomatsu, as that looks like a wonderful all purpose decoration that blends in with the other bamboo stuff.

I haven't received mine yet, but I like the look of the Kadomatsu since I always like adding new plant-related stuff around my island!

Not a fan of any of them. The only one I've purchased is the arch. Since it has 2021 on it, it seems like something worth collecting.

I like the kadomatsu, zodiac ox, and yut nori. I have an outdoor seating area with a chess set that I thought felt too fancy for that... so the yut nori is perfect. I'm also happy that we are seeing some more plant additions and the zodiac animal models! I really loved collecting those in New Leaf. I'll welcome any food item additions but this particular dish doesn't look very appetising to me so I probably wont use it

I like them all but the arch is my favorite! While it would’ve been nice to have for New Years Eve, I will still be setting it up for a few days because of how festive it is.

As much as I like the Olivier salad, that Zodiac ox figure looks nice. I'm a bit bias, because that's what my Zodiac is.

Never played yut nori but I thought it'd be good for a potential gambling area, lol.

I chose the salad. I think it looks delish. I googled to find out what's in it, and it has everything I like. Now I want to make it.

they’re all pretty neat but my favourites definitely have to be the arch and the kadomatsu! sadly, i don’t have any ideas on what to use the arch for yet but i think that the kadomatsu could look nice in one of my garden areas or in a floral shop room, which i’m excited to try and create. :’^)

I picked the Kadomatsu, but I honestly loved the food items we got pre/post New Years. I finally have food I can put in my outdoor dinner! Hopefully we get a bigger variety though, cause so far everyone is eating New Year’s noodles.

I love all the Japanese New Years items. I’m half Japanese-American, and growing up New Years was always our ‘Japanese’ holiday. It was the only time of the year we could get fresh mochi in our small town (the local Buddhist temple made it). We grew up in a very white American town and so it was kind of the time of year that I felt we celebrated our heritage most.

Kadomatsu is my favourite item from the new year items it will look lovely around my campsite area. The arch is nice too but I don’t really like the colours that it comes in unless I haven’t checked and you can customise it?

Haha it is actually delicious in my opinion! It has shredded boiled chicken, boiled carrots, peas, a little bit of gerkins and mayo. If you have a chance you should give it a shot! Though I agree, in game it looks weird, as in real life it is mostly in a bowl rather than in that strange shape : D.

I like the sound of the yut nori in your seating area! Thats very cute <3
