Pokémon Favourite pokemon movie?

Hello forum, nice night to you all, what is your top favourite pokemon movie? Mines is the first one, I remember going to the cinema (maybe showing my age a bit now!) to see it with my mum and then getting the VHS, it continues to be my favourite pokemon movie though I've seen them all. Currently making my way through the series, on gen 4 at the moment. I love watching and rewatching the original series, and playing the original games. Always sets me up for the day and relaxes me to collect pokemon and trade them with friends.

mine is definately the rise of darkrai
that movie is so funny, amazing, beautiful and i legit get goosebumps everytime i watch it, it's the best pokemon movie i've ever seen! plus i love darkrai, he's so groovy

i haven't seen it in so long like 2 years now, i really want to watch it again but my dvd broke and my dad won't let me buy another because i apparently don't need a "childish movie"

there are a lot of good Pokemon movies but my favourite is definitely the first one, I've seen it so many times and I never tire of watching it, the storyline is good, it has a great mixture of Pokemon (watching it was what made me fall in love with Vaporeon - my favourite eeveelution, plus Mew is always so cute) and I really like the music - Brother My Brother was such a touching song during the fight sequence between the clones.

I've missed most of them. Which is something I wanted to rectify recently...but I wanted to watch all the anime episodes between the movies, and that is an arduous process...so I kinda gave up. That said...I'm pretty sure I only saw the first three movies, and then maybe one or two random ones since then. The original is my favorite just because it's from my childhood, and I actually went to the theater to see it.

I stopped watching the anime back when they were still in Johto, and I can't say I regret the decision any since apparently, aside from the Orange Islands, Ash only ever won the Alola League (I had to look that up, for all I knew I figured he still hadn't won any real ones) and they've apparently nerfed Pikachu's power multiple times when switching regions. It seems like it would be more interesting if they changed protagonists with each region instead of keeping Ash around, but alas.

Since I stopped following the anime so long ago, the last Pokémon movie I watched was Pokémon 3: The Movie. That also happens to be my favorite. I don't feel like the first movie aged well and I only ever thought the second movie was okay. The plot of the third movie was more interesting and the movie helped to spark more of an appreciation for Entei for me in the games.

Edit: Granted, regarding the first movie, I've only ever seen the English dub. I saw something a bit earlier that reminded me that the original Japanese version had better writing and there was more backstory to Mewtwo that was never adapted. It kind of makes me want to check out the original subtitled version.

I'm not sure, I haven't seen pokemon movies in a long time! I remember watching the celebi movie as a kid (saw it on Cartoon Network or whatever) and it was so sad I cried. Looking back though from what I remember it was a really cool movie, especially with the time traveling stuff. I also remember watching the lucario movie on tv and that was also sad and made me cry lol. I think I also liked the jirachi movie, Arceus movie, unknown movie (with Entei), and the Latios/latias one (if thats the one with the flute I'm remembering).

I remember I did not like the diance movie, Hoopa movie, or the magearna movie when I saw them a few years ago on Netflix.

I looked up a complete list of all the movies to write this post and there are so many! I really want to watch them again, especially the classic old ones that I never saw!

For me its Pokemon Rise of Darkari. Considering that Generation 4 was the gen that got me into Pokemon in first place it was the first Pokemon movie I ever watched. It was pretty unique.

Mine was Pokémon Heroes. It’s pretty emotional and stars my fave legendaries Latias and Latios. I often got my Dad to rent it from the local video store on more than one occasion.

Showing my age here but I honestly think it would have to be the first movie! I used to have a yellow VHS and remember it would keep skipping because I watched it so often. It’s my favourite because of the nostalgia I have attached to it, mew was actually my favourite Pokémon for a while because of that film!

I really love the first one (Mewtew Strikes Back) and the third one (Spell of the Unown) Grew up watching those two all the time, and they're still my favorites to this day

I have only watched three Pokemon movies. Mewtwo Strikes Back (in English), The Legend of One (in Japanese), and Lucario and the Mystery of Mew (in both Japanese and English). My favorite is definitely Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. I was sort of lukewarm about Lucario as a Pokemon for a long time, but I've warmed up to the Pokemon after having watched that movie. Also, it prominently involves the Regis, and I love them (especially Regice, who has the cutest voice ever in this movie for some reason). Unlike the first movie, it's not completely butchered in English, either (sorry, fans of the dub... I usually loathe it).

Some of my favorites include The Rise of Darkrai, Arceus and the Jewel of Life, 3rd Pokémon movie (with entei) and Destiny Deoxys :3 most of the old Pokémon movies were really good tbh.

Lets see...the anime movies are certainly cringe so I have to back to the nostalgic factor. As a kid I remembered watching Mewtwo Strikes Back in a theater. I really liked it at the time. Even as a kid I knew Ash wasn't going to die but I did shed tears. I also liked Movie 2000 with Lugia and the Bird trio. It was the last time I watched a Pokemon movie with Ash. I watched Legend of Thunder and left hoping Ash would get replaced eventually...sadly that would never happen.

I'm super late to this thread, but I think my favorite movie is actually Pokemon 2000! Lugia's song holds a lot of nostalgia for me, and I loved Melody's character. Maybe I'm a purist though, because I really like the first and third movies a TON too lol

I really liked Mewtwo Strikes Back and the one with Celebi. I haven’t seen either in such a long time, but they were both sad. I loved how they taught major life lessons... I love movies with deeper meanings.

I think Arceus and the Jewel of Life would be my favorite... it's so epic and gorgeous, I love it!

The first movie has the most nostalgia for me: I still have the limited edition pokemon card! My little sister was obsessed with the "brother my brother" song and we played that scene over and over, lol.

But also, Lugia's song from pokemon 2000 has such beautiful covers!

destiny deoxys!! deoxys is one of my favourite pokemon and i thought it was an overall really solid film, so it's my favourite pokemon movie to this day. i've also got a lot of nostalgia for the first movie, so that one's dear to my heart too

Oh boy, I haven't seen any of these movies in YEARS so I fear for how well they stand up from my memories. I remembering loving them when I was a kid. My favourite was Mewtwo Returns (which looking up apparently is an hour tv special but it had its own VHS so I'm counting it as a movie lol), but speaking nowadays, I'd have to watch a bunch to make my decision. I remember seeing Mewtwo Strikes Back, The Power of One, Spell of the Unown, Voice of the Forest, Heroes, Wish Maker and Mewtwo Returns. I haven't seen anything after those.
