Basically I’m looking for a new game to play and wondered what some of your favourites were?

I have BOTW, ACNH (obvs), crash bandicoot, spyro, Mario kart & stardew valley.

also feel free to recommend any indie games! I saw Owl Boy was on sale today and thought it looked pretty good c:

my all time favourite game is obviously botw as i have said so many times haha
i just love that one so much 💕

i play quite a lot of games lol, some of my other favourites are:
- mario kart 8
- acnh
- spiritfarer (i only recently got this but i already love it so much)
- splatoon 2
- hyrule warriors: age of calamity
- mario odyssey
- hatsune miku: project diva megamix
- calico
- sonic forces
- steven universe save the light
- pheonix wright: ace attorney
- minecraft
- youtubers life
- arms

i play smash bros but it's only fun when u play with someone else imo
also bowsers fury looks pretty good so i might get that when it's cheaper

my top 3 switch games are:
  • ACNH - though you obviously have that already
  • Pokemon Shield (or Sword) - this generally seems an unpopular game but I really enjoyed it and I like a number of the Pokemon introduced in this generation
  • Super Mario Odyssey - I really loved this game, one of the few games I've played through more then once, if you've played previous 3D world Mario games and enjoyed them (like Galaxy) then you'll probably like this one

some other choices:
  • BOTW and Mario Kart are both good but you already have them
  • Let's Go (Eevee or Pikachu) - not a massive fan of these games but if you've played much Pokemon and really liked the original games in Kanto then you might like these (just don't expect anything new in them)
  • Super Mario 3D Allstars - quite handy getting 3 games in 1 and if you've ever played Super Mario 64, Mario Sunshine or Mario Galaxy and really enjoyed them then this is a good game for a replay of them (I got it to replay Sunshine and really enjoyed it), likewise if you've never played those games but are interested in them then this is a good choice
  • Paper Mario: Origami King - I haven't personally played this but I often hear good things about it
  • Super Smash Bros Ultimate - good game but I find it more enjoyable playing with family/friends
  • Luigis Mansion 3 - not actually played this one but I enjoyed the previous games and this one seems to get good reviews
  • Splatoon 2 - good game to play to pass the time if you're waiting for Splatoon 3
  • Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury - not played this yet and it's quite pricey at the moment as it's only just been released but it looks like a good game, if you've previously played 3D World and enjoyed it then you'll probably like this

botw, acnh, kirby star allies, smash ultimate, odyssey, mario party, mario kart, stardew, 3D world, link’s awakening, etc. the list can go on forever. i really enjoy the switch games, just wish there wasn’t the drift problem..

I don't like the switch library as much as other consoles, so my only to favorites at the moment are luigi's mansion 3, acnh and splatoon 2. I have other games... but I don't care about them.

Thanks so much for all of your in depth replies, I appreciate it and find it so interesting hearing why they’re you’re favourite games ^_^ I decided to get Bowser’s Fury! I’m really tempted by the new persona game too but I’ve never played any of the other ones, plus I don’t have a PlayStation to play them on anyway haha.

I’ve actually played Pokémon Shield and Odyssey! Both amazing games, I’m really excited to hear about the new Pokémon game too. Diamond and Pearl was one of my favourite Pokémon gens!

Diamond and Pearl were great games, I loved them and the ruby/sapphire generation and I really enjoyed OR/AS so I'm hoping they'll do a good job on these remakes (plus I'll finally get to replay with one of my favourite starters, Piplup :giggle:)

Hope you enjoy Bowsers Fury, from what I've seen it looks like a really good game :D

I've been enjoying the Crash Bandicoot N Same Trilogy. I played CB Warped as a child so it was fun to go back as an adult and see if I had gotten any better at playing (I hadn't, but I still had fun)

Fortnite would be #1 for me (Don't you dare judge me it's actually good but the community sucks)

If i had to have some more i'd put Minecraft, Undertale/Deltarune, oh, and the Fnaf ports are well handled too

Sword/Shield is literal garbage in my eyes so that's not there

-My favorites are:
Stardew Valley
A Night In The Woods
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Splatoon 2
Disgaea 5 and 4
Pokemon Shield

-Honorable mentions:
Yomawari the long night collection
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

My favourites are in the following order:
1) The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
2) Animal Crossing: New Horizons
3) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
4) Skyrim
5) Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
6) Pokemon Shield
7) Super Mario Odyssey

Still surprised sometimes at how great of a library the Switch has :)

My favorites are new horizons, pokemon sword (getting the DLC soon), and super smash bros ultimate. I may get BOTW eventually, and I wanted Splatoon 2 a lot but I never got a chance to get it. I'm preordering Splatoon 3 asap, though.

I really love Animal Crossing and right now am enjoying Bowser’s Fury a lot! I also like Odyssey, MK 8 Deluce, and Bug Fables.

My favorite switch game is Stardew Valley and Rune Factory 4 Special. I hope they do a good job on RF5 because I have really been looking forward to playing it when It comes out.

I LOVED ORAS too! Such a great remake! I'm really hoping they do well to Sinnoh as well! Gen 4 is my second fav generation.

I personally don't own it on Switch, but I will +1 Jam86's recommendation of Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney trilogy. It's fantastic and I think everyone who hasn't played it should give it a try.

I haven't played many Switch games yet but I really enjoyed Luigi's Mansion 3. It's not excessively long. It'll probably only take you 15-20 hours to beat it. But it's a lot of fun trying to discover things in the mansion. It's more of a puzzle solving and exploration game compared to most Mario games (you don't even fight the ghosts that often really) but it does some creative things.

I would probably say that my favorite Switch game is Fire Emblem: Three Houses since it's the best Fire Emblem game in terms of all-around quality of characters, setting, story, and gameplay to have come out in the series in the past decade. It's a great game with a lot of replayability. Not perfect and not my favorite Fire Emblem, but I'd say it's definitely a solid experience and the Fire Emblem game of the modern era that I'd recommend to people interested in trying the franchise.

My second favorite is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It's a lot of fun to play with friends and occasionally I'll play against random online opponents or members here during forum events. It has a humongous roster of characters to play as and I enjoy playing as a lot of them.

Third would be Animal Crossing: New Horizons. There's a lot to love about the game, and I do love the game, but I also prefer Animal Crossing: New Leaf in a lot of areas. Despite that preference for New Leaf, I've still sunk a ridiculous amount of time into New Horizons as well.

Honorable mention to Tetris 99, which I've found more addicting and appealing than I would have guessed when I first got it. I just keep coming back to it. It's a nice way to spend a few minutes, or more.

My collection isn't too much larger than that, and a few of them are games that are multi-platform, not exclusive to the Switch and not necessarily made by Nintendo themselves. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is definitely solid but I also played that on the Wii U, and Mario Tennis Aces is fun. River City Girls, Stardew Valley, and Streets of Rage 4 are all solid, awesome games too but they're not Switch exclusive. Sega Genesis Collection also isn't exclusive to the Switch, and it's just a collection of a bunch of old games all in one package, but that's good fun and a nice selection as well. I have Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield as well, but there are a number of reasons that I'm not fond of them. I can derive fun from Sword and Shield, they're not all bad, but I don't like them anywhere near as much as the previous games in the series.

I'm looking forward to the release of Shin Megami Tensei V later this year, unless it gets delayed or something. Hopefully that will be good and maybe it will become a favorite, but we've got to wait and see.
