Scarlet and Violet have graced us with two new doggos!

Fidough, the lovable puppy made of dough

And...

Greavard, the candle ghost puppy that is full of energy...well, your energy

Which of these cuties are your favourite?

Greavard has won my heart (and life force)

fidough, easily, although he still won't make my team. four slots are already filled up by returning pokemon, a fifth goes to sprigatito (well, its final evolution will determine whether or not it stays...) and the sixth will probably go to rapidash if it's in the game. regardless, greavard's color palette is way too bland, and i personally really don't care for the overly large lower jaw. proportion wise, the thing looks all over the place imo.

Greavard, and it's not even close.

While the candle flame being purple does bring to mind Litwick (which isn't a bad thing, I love Litwick) and some part of me makes me feel like it's derivative because of it, the rest of me doesn't care even if it is derivative because I love this ghost dog so much. Greavard looks awesome and as of now it's my favorite of the new Pokémon revealed for Scarlet and Violet. Definitely earned a spot alongside Sprigatito in my first Violet playthrough.

Fidough is fun conceptually and I appreciate it as someone who likes to bake, but I wish the yellows were shades of brown instead.

If I had to choose just one, I would pick Greavard, but I honestly think there's a pretty decent chance I'll just have both it and Fidough on my permanent team. 😂 I'll wait until we have the full Pokédex before actually planning my team out ofc (and I probably won't get Scarlet until a good while after release anyway), but I really love both of them! My preference goes to Greavard though for the spooky vibes and the Dex entry stating that it doesn't mean to drain life force, what a good pupper 🥺, but also...
I find its concept kinda comforting? My childhood dog passed away just a few years back and idk, I think that's also really drawing me to the "friendly ghost dog that pops out of the ground" idea.

But Fidough is also really cute and I'm super curious to see what it evolves into!

That's a hard choice.
I guess I'd pick Greavard because I think it's evolution will be more interesting.
They are both great though.

This may be a bold statement, but Greavard has worked their way into my top five Pokémon. I love my ghost dog. I loved it as soon as it was announced. I always have a Pokémon dog on my team, and that’s no exception this year.

Going with Greavard. Fidough is nice, but it's too basic for me compared to Greavard.

Although I love me some breab, Greavard is just infinitely cuter. It doesn't remind me too much of Litwick (although Litwick's line is one of my favs), because the candle just looks like half a bone to me, which is very on brand for doggo. I don't know if it will make my lineup, however - it depends on if it evolves or not.

Greavard, I love litwick and he's just a puppy version of litwick 🥺

Greavard definitely gets my vote on this one. I'm not usually a big fan of dog Pokémon but this one has stolen my heart probably because of the Litwick connection.

Overall though I have to say I wish they did a little more with these guys. If we took out the spooky I would say Greavard is too similar to Herdier/Stoutland and Fidough is giving me too much Yamper vibes (because of the colouring especially).

I voted for Greavard buuut I'm not exactly a fan of either of them... idk they just don't really look "pokemon-y" enough for me.

I'm not sure when Polterpup from Luigi's Mansion became a Pokémon, but I think he's neat.

I think I like Greavard more bc I'll always have a soft spot for ghost-type pokemon, but I gotta say that Fidough is probably the funniest pokemon name I've ever heard.

also is it just me or does Greavard look like he should be a lot bigger than he is, based on the artwork?
