yes, i've played it.
and yes, its awsome.
the game has this awsome beat to it... you hear the music going, and the goomba sort of dancing tward you, and whenever the music does a little bop, the goomba's and koopas will hop in the air... the whole game is sort of a dance. : )
I played and beat world 1, and man, it was awsome... World 1 is grassland... hills in the background, and the mushroomtop forest.
the first level is like any other mario game... green everywhere, and the first thing you ever see is a goomba, its not a very hard level to my standards, a few enemies here and there, goomba's mostly, a couple koopas though.

the start of a new adventure.
the second level is underground, its pretty much like the first one, only you get to learn how to wall jump... you dont need to to win of course, but its good practice, which from my understanding, you'll need later.

front part of level 2
the third level is the top of the mushrooms, you hop from mushroom to mushroom trying not to die, and grabing all the giant coins you can. the mushrooms that appear tilted to the side actually move around, they point left, then right, like i said, everything dances in world 1.

shroom hoppin'
i'll just stop here, since i dont want to spoil everything for everyone... i'll just say, its an awsome game, anyone with a DS should buy it, and anyone without a DS should buy a DS then buy this game... its just too good to miss, the first true mario platformer since super mario world.

the first video on there shows the music from world 1, an upbeat tune.
as a side note, in that song, whenever it gets to a "wha-wha" part, the goomba's and koopa's will jump, and in world 2, when it gets to that part in its song, the spiney beetles will hop up and change direction.
