Forum Games

I was worried this would happen.

People will vote yes just for the hell of it. They'd rather have a new feature, even if it is pointless or underused, over a more compact and professional-looking board.

So, you'd rather have a completely serious board with no fun and unserious anywhere?

what difference does it make, aside from letting the target age group have fun, and having the topics pop up in the active thread?

a thought: can vBulletin give user options to hide entire boards from users? so it would filter out all of the meaningless threads or whatnot that the user didn't want to see. i dunno.

If vBul does, then this thread is useless.

Not really, I'm arguing that a pointless and board like Forum Games negatively affects TBT's image, while doing nothing to encourage real interaction.

some/most of the forums games do end up being spam-wars, and don't add anything other than fun to the forum (for those who enjoy them), but to make a blanket statement like that misses the games that (when played correctly, not just nook-spam) can effectively bring the forum together, if not only to learn more things about one another and to help those who are more shy to get used to the mechanics of posting.

effecting TBT"s image is hardly a valid point IMO, simply because it's an animal crossing/video game general forum. if it was a more serious board, i could understand it being cut, but this isn't as serious of a forum as it would be without the forum games.

a more active moderation team would be a handy check against dozens of the same topic and whatnot, but to just cut the entire section out because it's bad for our rep makes keeping all of our old threads/posts pointless, since it wouldn't be the same TBT it was before the move. (which i'm assuming is part of the reason why all the info has been so hard to detach from)

it would be hard to keep all the old forum games threads and shove them into off-topic/brewster's new incarnate without having the forum games simply popping up in there. mods could always close/lock/delete them, but what does it really hurt to have them in the first place, other than making the bell tree a serious forum for a totally non-serious game?
