In New Leaf, we could only have 30 public work projects.

In New Horizon, it looks like the main feature is crafting and decorating your island with various furniture. I think its probably realistic to assume that there will be some kind of limit on how much we can actually place.

But will it be a reasonable amount? A generous amount? Even something like 100 seems too little...

Good point -- there will absolutely be a limit, just like the limit for items placed inside of your rooms in a house. Hopefully it's not low enough to be a hinderance.

Waaait there is a limit for that? I never hit that limit so it must be generous

Pretty sure the limit will be in a way that you will have enough freedom and space to place lots of items
outside but you will not be able to fill your entire island with random stuff so that you and your villagers
can't even walking around anymore.

new leaf item limit is such that you can cover 75% of a full-sized room with 1x1 furniture, right?

perhaps the same here?

though ideally, they would just drop it completely and be like how iirc older games were

that, or the limit was just really absurdly high back then. at least so much that I was able to make a full diorama of my town covering the entire basement

Interesting... I figured that they would just let you place items everywhere and as many as you desire but now that I?ve learnt of that limit in New Leaf maybe there will be one after all... It better not be too restrictive

I imagine there'll be a limit like with bushes and trees to prevent you from blocking off areas, like Hekapoo mentioned. But has anyone ever encountered a limit when placing items outside in NL or previous games? Because if anything, I imagine it'd be similar to that, rather than the indoor furniture limit like we currently have.

I've never noticed any limit for dropping items, though it should be noted that you have the option to drop or place in nh iirc

so dropping may not have a limit, but placing may

I really hope there isn't a limit, it will just limit the freedom of creating your island how you want it (although I can see why they would put a limit on placing items - lag issues, won't be able to walk around, etc.). I just hope that they are generous with the limit so that I can have the freedom of creating lots of little areas on my island.

ugh the item limit in new leaf is so annoying, i have hit it so many times it's ridiculous. you can't fill up an entire room with things on tables ):
there will definitely be a limit and i will most likely hit it again....

i wonder what they'll do about placing furniture next to each other. like, in new leaf you can't have too many bushes next to each other, i wonder if it will be the same with items in new horizons.

In the trailer you can see some furniture items by Houses. Idk if they showed anything by trees and bushes. The Bush and tree rules are probably the same but I think we'll be able to actually place furniture by them this time.
