💌 [𝔾𝔸𝕄𝔼] Pick a Card - Intro

oh wow, this is 100% cute!!
i absolutely LOVE poker cards and actually have a favorite card among them because of a card my friend gave to me a bit ago.

welcome to the forums, and id love to heard about King Of Hearts!
Thanks, I'm glad some people are enjoying it, and feel honored being welcomed by a prince! Are you related to the King of Hearts by any chance?

King of Hearts: What is your favorite Nintendo Title?
Of all game types, I'm actually least familiar with console ones because I wasn't allowed to have one growing up. After watching Pok?mon I decided to save enough money to buy one for myself though, and then secretly played it during lunch breaks at school. I'd pick Pok?mon as my favorite for nostalgic reasons, but Animal Crossing is the one I get most invested in!

Welcome to the forum! I also love animation, both anime and western cartoons. I think animation allows for so much more in the way of expression and creativity. Animation makes it possible to do things that you could never do properly in live-action. I'm also a fan of Hilda and would love another season.

What a neat idea to include a game in your introduction! I'll pick 9 of Clubs.
It's nice seeing others enjoy the idea, so thank you for telling (and welcoming) me. I like getting to know the people I interact with, even if it's just a little bit!

Sometimes it's quite disheartening to hear cartoons/Anime be dismissed as lesser by people in the industry (and outside of it), so it always feels good to find some who can see their potential. I don't inherently prefer them to live-action, but absolutely agree about the flexibility they allow for in storytelling!

Nine of Clubs: What is your favorite Fruit?
Oh you're the first person to pick a card from this category! I'm personally not as picky when it comes to the Native Fruit and would be equally happy with apples, cherries or peaches. Oranges are fine as well if everything else fits my preferences, but I might draw the line at pears and reset. It's the shape more than the color - askew, and somewhat mushy looking!

ohh, i never seen this before! welcome!

i'll choose 9 of diamonds! (if this is wrong, sorry, im not so good at cards )
Games are a big part of my life, so it just seemed right to use one here to meet the community. Thank you for the welcome and for joining in!

Nine of Diamonds: What are your Fears?
This might be a strange one: Deep water, or specifically, things underwater fading from view. I don't know why or when it started, but I find it unsettling, especially if the thing in question starts off above water (like the post of a pier for example). I remember swimming out to a buoy once and seeing its chain disappear into the depths - my stomach instantly flipped and I was lucky I could hold onto something

Thanks - and one Five of Spades coming right up for you!

Five of Spades: Who is your favorite Snooty Villager?
Mine would be either Blanche or Whitney. Both look very sophisticated and suit the personality perfectly! I'd be more likely to pick Blanche for my town, purely because she's the only Bird I really like, while there are several wolves I have to choose between!

My favorite would be Bree or Francine. I have Bree in my town and although I didn't intend to get her, she quickly grew on me and is one of my favorite villagers now! And, I really like Francine (and Chrissy!) because of how cute they are :)

Hello, welcome to TBT! I’ll choose seven of diamonds if it hasn’t already been taken.

Oh, I enjoy live-action, too. Basically, I don't care if something is live-action or animated...if I enjoy the story then the medium doesn't really matter to me. But there are people, like my dad, who just don't get it. To him, if something is animated then it's for children and he doesn't understand why a grown woman like myself would watch cartoons. LOL

As far as fruits go in the game, I don't think I'm really picky. I'm not sure I have a favorite, but based on the town theme or whatnot I may want a certain fruit to go with it. For instance, my town's name is Sakura which means cherry blossoms in Japanese, so I really wanted cherries as my town fruit for that reason. I got lucky and got them on my first map choice, but if I had gotten a different fruit, I wouldn't have reset.

In real life, pears are my favorite fruit and I like their green color in the game. I think they go with almost anything, so if forced to pick a favorite, I guess I'd go with them. The only fruit I really don't like is oranges, mainly because I don't like the look of the perfect oranges, but if I got them I'd just live with it. I can still plant whatever fruit trees I want and keep a few perfect trees hidden in a corner somewhere if necessary. I'm pretty easy going about that type of stuff.

ooohh, interesting!
yikes.. your fear actually sounds pretty scary. i have a big book of fears but the biggest ones have to be machetes (i had a very, very bad experience with them), guns, snakes, getting hit by a car, being alone and hated and the dark. sorry if they're weird hehe.

Today was an insane day for me (read: I’m just about to pass out o.o) but I’ll get back to everyone with questions and responses tomorrow! ♥

may i pick ace of diamond?
Hm unfortunately that card has already been answered
How about this: I’ll send you a PM with the three other Aces, and you can choose the question you like best!

the king of hearts is a stubborn guy in the household! currently my 5th cousin, if i could say (heh)

and HMMMM i grew up on the entire Pokemon series and loved the side games such as Mystery Dungeon and Ranger waaaay too much to choose any other game tbh!
I think i'll have to agree with u on that AC is one that's gotten me hooked like no other series before though
cause it just has so much content, and it lulls you to notice beyond the time passing
(stardew valley similarly did the same to me, and id find myself sitting on the bed playing for hours on end ahahhaha)

Hello Bells ^ェ^

Thank you all for playing, it's been great getting to know you and the forum better!
I hope you have a great start into the weekend! ♥

Apologies to everyone for the belated responses - I didn't have the time up until now

I really need to watch the remake of Fruits Basket. I watched the original about 2-3 times, so I'm excited for summer so I can binge it!
I don't know how it'll compare to the original, but from what I've seen I can only recommend it. Maybe let me know once you've started watching - I'd be really curious to hear what a longtime fan of the series thinks!

I like Tank!
Tank is my favorite Rhino for sure!

My favorite would be Bree or Francine. I have Bree in my town and although I didn't intend to get her, she quickly grew on me and is one of my favorite villagers now! And, I really like Francine (and Chrissy!) because of how cute they are :)
I'm overall not the fondest of the Mice design, but Bree is a cute exception. With Chrissy and Francine I like thinking they're sisters, so I love seeing them living next door to each other in people's towns.

Ahh yes, I've been in the situation you describe with your dad many times before. The idea that cartoons are inherently immature should be outdated by now, but I see it with people in college just as much as with older ones. I find it particularly amusing when those same people think the media they are consuming is somehow high-brow and deep, when the only "adult" thing about it really is the nudity. haha

I might've sounded too harsh on pears. If anything, I just like their perfect version the least and would prefer a fruit that I can see myself wanting a whole orchard of. Regular, green pears I actually quite like and often plant around town. Landscaping is one of my favorite aspects of the game, so I'm hoping they'll include more plants and trees (fruit-bearing ones too) in the Switch game!

ooohh, interesting!

Those fears all seem pretty understandable to me, especially the one of being alone. I prefer being around people, and often get a bit sad in the evenings when I'm just by myself. As far as machetes go, I've never handled or been around one in real life, but I can definitely see how they'd be frightening! I'm tempted to ask what happened, but will just remain politely curious. hehe

I never played the side games that much, but I loved (and still occasionally watch) the Anime. Are you planning on playing Sword/Shield when they come out this winter? I'm personally looking forward to the new game nearly as much as Animal Crossing!

oh, don't worry. so what happened was, when i was younger, i nearly got chased by a kid with a machete. for some weird reason, he really hated me (which was completely understandable, i was an annoying kid), which kinda made it worse in my case lol. i honestly wonder where he got a machete, and more importantly, how.
