I got my grammy a DS lite for her birthday. I got her tetrus because she loooves that game. What games do you think she would like to play on the ds. She likes puzzle games, not so much number games though.

How about any Zelda games? Spirit Tracks or Phantom of the Hourglass? So cool hearing your grandma loves playing games!

Nintendogs is also a great choice ;)

Maybe i’ll see if she wants nintendo dogs. She just got tetrus today and is trying to figure it out and what the buttons mean. I think zelda would be to much maybe. Personally i never have played.

I wouldn't recommend the DS LoZ games since PH requires quite some patience and ability to play. Also they weren't that good made (speaking for PH which is basically trash in my opinion) and you can get stuck really easily if you don't know what you are doing and they abused the touch screen for it.

Dunno if she likes platformers but there should be Kirby and Mario games out there for sure if she wants something lighter. And there are probably tons of sudoku/brain/crossword things as well.

I mean this may be super obvious, but you could get her Animal Crossing Wild World. It's not the best game in the series, but it's still a good game to play, especially for someone who wants to play something more laid-back compared to action-adventure games.

I sorta agree with you on PH but ST was an amazing game!

Yeah I went pretty skeptical for the series after that so I haven't tried but yeah @ op dont buy PH, unless she's a master painter with patience lol. Jk but it was pretty trash in general and shouldn't have happened

Personally, I would say Nintendogs is a nice game to recommend, it's simple and relaxing to play,
the game itself explains how everything works and of course, cute dogs!

Otherwise, how about Mario Kart? I heard most people would recommend Mario Kart to other
people who never played videogames that much. It's also simple to play and probably makes
a lot of fun over time?

I also thought of Harvest Moon, but I'm not sure if the DS title is a good one? (I remember
playing it a long time ago, but can't remember how good or bad it was.)

Yeah, Nintendogs is probably good for a starter, especially is she likes animals a lot :)

Mario kart could be fun as well, the DS one is pretty fun with great tracks if you dont mind the AI too much ^^

If your grandmother is into puzzle games, I'd recommend the Professor Layton series. Each game has complex puzzles and brain teasers.

Nintendogs, Brain Age (if she wants some friendly challenges to keep her brain going healthy), and Animal Crossing Wild World are excellent games. Nintendogs especially, because it is all touch-screen and there's no losing, so she can really take her time learning about it.

I second Professor Layton games! It's a very good series.

Also, if you can find it, The Adventures of Cookie & Cream is a pretty cute puzzle game.

May I ask what her age is? When my maternal grandmother was still alive, she loved doing sudoku puzzles, so maybe you could find something along those lines.

My grammys birthday was the 11th. She is i believe late 60s early 70s. I say i believe because its a game she has been doing since we where little she won’t tell anyone in the family her age so huge secret. I’ll have her watch the tralior to some of those games and see what she says. Right now gamestop gave her the wrong charger to her ds so she cNt play tetrus.

But thank you to everyone giving me ideas. Ill have her try ACNL which is what i have and see if she likes it. Shes more into puzzle ones. She loves her iphone games.

possibly meteos, though for her age, it might be better to run this off an xl system

that said, there's the disney reskin sequel too that has bigger pieces iirc, due to turning the system sideways to play. as well as the ability to move blocks horizontally. though original>disney magic imo

also, echoing layton games and wild world suggestions

also, not puzzle games in the traditional sense, but if she's into stuff that tests her critical thinking ability and observational skills, I'd also recommend the ace attorney games (moreso the original phoenix wright trilogy, but apollo justice is good too) and hotel dusk+last window

also, the latter games are presented like a noir detective fiction, so if she's into that sort of storytelling, then....

I like Ghost Trick for a puzzle game. You are a ghost that possesses different objects in a room to move them around. You need to move certain ones to figure out how to open a door or travel to a new area. You are also on a mission to find out who killed you. It is a fun game and the story is pretty funny. The challenges are timed, but time stops when you use your ghost powers. The timed part is really only annoying towards the end when the puzzles are harder.
