I recall seeing this on my Twitter and I thought that this would be really cool to do(minus the tags and such).
'The Gender Tag is a project for everyone. Gender is a part of the human experience, and every single person experiences gender in a different way'

I was curious in what you guys answers/responses maybe

Questions:

1. How do you self-identify your gender, and what does that definition mean to you?
2. What pronouns honor you?
3. Describe the style of clothing that you most often wear.
4. Talk about your choices with body hair. How do you style your hair? Do you have facial hair? What do you choose to shave, or choose not to shave?
5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any?
6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often?
7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you?
8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have?
9. Talk about money. Is it important to you to provide for a family financially if you choose to have one? Is it important to you that you earn more than any partner you may have? Do you prefer to pay for things like dates? Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you?
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender?

Here's my tag:
1. I identify myself as female. I'm still exploring and learning as my life continues but I do think I'm very comfortable with the sex I am.
2. She/Her/Them
3. It really depends honesty. I don't think clothes have a gender but my style does consist of cyber ghetto and urban(for my mood swifts from wearing black to bright colors).
4. MMMMMM. Well I don't do much with my hair. It is pretty long though, down to my butt. I shave sometimes, like my underarms or something. Not much of my legs or arms since there's not much there. I'm pretty personal with my private areas.
5. Ahhh. I love makeup. It brings out my creative side and expresses myself more throughly. But I don't wear heavy. I'll probably contour on a special event or something but I just do my eyebrows, probably some lipstick(my lips are naturally nude), winged eyeliner and mascara.
6. Probably just online since no one knows what your gender is unless told otherwise. I've been called a boy a lot on this site called imvu but in real life? No. Unless jokes count.
7. No. I love myself and my body. So I'm good.
8. Maybe one day but not now. Probably in the near near future when I finally found someone I love and if we do decide to get kids, I would like to adopt.
9. I was confused about this one but I guess being finical has its gender like masculine. "I'm the man so I got this". Naw. I don't think me and who ever I love should be entitled or belittle base upon what they make but I do need something stable enough so we don't later stress aboht it.

10. I think that covers it but I'm still learning and exploring on who I am and what I'm comfortable with but I think this is good enough. Shoutout to nonbinaries, I remember being hella naive about this topic in the lgbat community thread but I'm growing and learning new things so yeah

Keep this clean people

Also don't try to be funny
If you don't know what this thread is about then leave but if you're curious feel free to ask questions
I want people to be able to feel more comfortable with the people they're sharing this community with

1. How do you self-identify your gender, and what does that definition mean to you? Male, to me gender refers to the sex you currently are. Like if you were born as a male, you are a male. If you have had a sex change from female to male you are a male. I don't rlly believe in gender fluidity but i dont know too much about that stuff
2. What pronouns honor you? Him/he/them
3. Describe the style of clothing that you most often wear. When I want to look nice for my friends, I will wear khaki's/jeans but if i am just relaxing probably sweat pants. Normal shirts sometimes under armour
4. Talk about your choices with body hair. How do you style your hair? Do you have facial hair? What do you choose to shave, or choose not to shave? Only rlly shave face
5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any? I will do my best to smell super nice, cuz i really dont like when people smell bad... no makeup, no nail polish etc
6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often? Not really
7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you? if this means like gender dysphoria, im still relatively young and super hormonal so it usually confuses me as to what turns me on but i am fairly certain I am straight
8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have? Yea i am interested in kids, I really want a son when I am older
9. Talk about money. Is it important to you to provide for a family financially if you choose to have one? Is it important to you that you earn more than any partner you may have? Do you prefer to pay for things like dates? Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you? Having money to pay for dates is something I try my best with when going our w girlfriends and stuff, I don't feel right when they pay
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender? n/a

I hope i read/answered these right

1. How do you self-identify your gender, and what does that definition mean to you?
I identify as a cis-female because my gender matches the sex I was assigned at birth.
2. What pronouns honor you?
She/Her
3. Describe the style of clothing that you most often wear.
Black jeans, band shirts, and either oversized flannel shirts or my camo jacket.
4. Talk about your choices with body hair. How do you style your hair? Do you have facial hair? What do you choose to shave, or choose not to shave?
I shave whenever i feel like I want to. As it's winter, I probably won't shave my legs very often as there is no need. I have very straight hair and a full fringe and so mostly I look like that one cat with the watermelon on its head.
5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any?
I wear quite heavy eyeliner and mascara. My favourite perfume smell is probably vanilla.
6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often?
No.
7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you?
No.
8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have?
I don't want any of my own children, and it's unlikely I'll ever have children at all. If I did choose to have kids, I would foster or adopt an older child.
9. Talk about money. Is it important to you to provide for a family financially if you choose to have one? Is it important to you that you earn more than any partner you may have? Do you prefer to pay for things like dates? Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you?
In a relationship, I'd like to share the cost of dates or dinner or whatever else we choose to do. It's important to me that I earn my own money and don't depend on someone else to get by.
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender?
Not that I can think of right now.

1. How do you self-identify your gender, and what does that definition mean to you? I'm born as a male so I'm a male and I've no problem with that.
2. What pronouns honor you? Hij, Jij, Je, Zijn, Hem.
3. Describe the style of clothing that you most often wear. Mostly casual.
4. Talk about your choices with body hair. How do you style your hair? Do you have facial hair? What do you choose to shave, or choose not to shave?I style the hair I've on my head and that's it, not planning on changing anything about that in the future. Probably gonna trim some parts of hair more in the future and others I'll just shave off.
5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any?No and I don't use soap, I use shower gel. And aside from some deodorant or on special occasion cologne not really that much.
6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often?Nope.
7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you?Uh, I've no idea, the definition my language has for this word is probably not what you mean. Looking at other people their answers, I'm attracted to woman and not men and I don't feel confused about that fact.
8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have? With the right person I might want to, yes. But I'm not gonna plan out my whole future like this as some people do.
9. Talk about money. Is it important to you to provide for a family financially if you choose to have one? Is it important to you that you earn more than any partner you may have? Do you prefer to pay for things like dates? Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you? It's important for me in general that I'm able to live a wealthy livestyle. I'm studying financial privately advicing so I think I'll be able to make this happen in the future for myself. It's not important to me what my partner earns as long as she likes her job. Although the often combined aspect with this of intelligence is important to me. I don't see why I would be uncomfortable when others pay for me or when I pay for others.
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender?Nope

not relevant since i'm aromantic asexual and 15 years old
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender?
i very often wish that i would be cis, or that it at least would be a lot easier for trans people to live in this world. getting harrassed, yelled at, made fun of, misgendered, beaten, discriminated against isn't a lot of fun.
i also think gender shouldn't be such a big deal to other people. if somebody doesn't know some person's gender it becomes this HUGE thing.
I think gender definitely should exist and stuff, but it shouldn't be as important in society as it is today. Stop forcing people into the gender binaries and stereotypes

I don't usually like to have people pay for me but if they want to then
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender? Nothing

1. How do you self-identify your gender, and what does that definition mean to you?
I'm a girl, born as one from day 1 in my life. It doesn't mean much to me, it's just telling me I'm a female. Though I do get annoyed when people tell me I can't do something because it's just a "boy thing", I don't stress about it too much. Most of them are good reasons, like the boys being more physically stronger than me.
2. What pronouns honor you?
She, her, them, sometimes it if they're a good friend.
3. Describe the style of clothing that you most often wear.
Casual, mostly. I enjoy my jeans and shorts, with a plain t-shirt with just one big soft color. I absolutely hate anything with bling or something like that.
4. Talk about your choices with body hair. How do you style your hair? Do you have facial hair? What do you choose to shave, or choose not to shave?
My hair is short, going down to just above my chin. I can't do much with it, and it's straight and I like it that way. I don't shave anything at the moment.
5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any?
Never. Never ever. I refuse to wear face makeup, or any make up. Having my nails painted is so, so weird for me. The chill feeling as it dries, and it feels... fake.
6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often?
The only time someone has questioned my gender when they came over to my house and looked at my pictures of my younger years like toddler and baby. I looked like a boy in a few of them. Now, it's pretty obvious that I'm a girl.
7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you?
No idea what dysphoria is. Probably means I don't have it, nor does it affect me.
8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have?
Yep. When I'm much older, like maybe in my twenties? I'm only in my tweens now, heh. I'd rather not carry a child, since birthing sounds pretty painful. I don't like being in pain, but nobody does. Adopting sounds nice. If I ever find a husband in the future, than I would want him and me to be the primary caretakers of the children that we have.
9. Talk about money. Is it important to you to provide for a family financially if you choose to have one? Is it important to you that you earn more than any partner you may have? Do you prefer to pay for things like dates? Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you?
Money is important in life, but it isn't everything. I'd prefer to have at least a comfortable amount of money so that I wouldn't have to worry about my family having no food, water, or shelter, ect. Most definitely would not enjoy being in poverty - though I do try to help to those who are when I can. Nah, it isn't a big deal to me who has the bigger paycheck. Paying for dates? Sure, I'm pretty flexible. I mean, if the person I'm with can't find the cash in their pockets it's only polite to pay in their stead. I'm alright with them paying too, though I apologize for any inconvenience before and afterwards.
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender?
Nuh-uh. Done here.

i see a lot of people here being transphobic, i don't want to minimod but please stop saying stuff like you have the right "parts" to be a boy or whatever

i never shave tbh
5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any?
sometimes i use perfume and sometimes my mom paints my nails but other than that, nothing! i don't think i'm comfortable with wearing makeup, i'm too used to seeing myself without it
6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often?
very often, especially since i'm not out to my family yet
7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you?
nope!

Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you?
idk what this has to do with gender, but um if it has to do with surgery i don't plan on getting surgery done so uh
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender?
just because i sound, act and look like a girl doesn't mean i am one! i'm allowed to be as feminine as i want!!

1. How do you self-identify your gender, and what does that definition mean to you?
Ummm I see myself as a guy? This is hard to answer tbh; guys are guys, girls are girls, and those who are bi/gay/lesbian are like in the middle. Here's a metaphor to how I see it: guys are white, girls are black, and bi/gay/lesbian are gray. There's tons of shades of gray (;D 50 shades of gray to be exact lmao) but they're gray nontheless. They're also both black and white at the same time, sometimes with a definite lean towards one over the other. But the color gray is gray nonetheless.
I myself am pure white, using my metaphor. Yeah.... this whole topic confuses me idek anymore....
2. What pronouns honor you?
He/him/his
3. Describe the style of clothing that you most often wear.
t-shirts & shorts, sometimes jeans and flannel if it's cold tho.
4. Talk about your choices with body hair. How do you style your hair? Do you have facial hair? What do you choose to shave, or choose not to shave?
I don't style my hair, it just gets brushed.... lol whatever it looks like after brushing/combing is what it becomes. ye I have facial hair, and no I don't shave. without it I look like I'm 11-12 even though I'm 16, so beard makes me look older r.i.p. crappy genetics
5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any?
nope. nope. peppermint oil soap, pinetar soap, olive oil soap, and tea tree oil soap. nope, I use pomegranate deodorant.
6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often?
never
7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you?
wth is dysphoria? I'm not gonna even google it considering it's on this....
8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have?
yeah, I'd like kids. umm with one of those baby straps right? I guess. idk if I'd be a good father or not, I hope and think I would, but idk I have doubts :/ but yeah I'd like kids BUT not until I'm like 20-30 because marrying and having a wife in my teen years would just be weird
9. Talk about money. Is it important to you to provide for a family financially if you choose to have one? Is it important to you that you earn more than any partner you may have? Do you prefer to pay for things like dates? Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you?
Um, I don't know. does it really matter who pays the bills tho?? I mean the bills are gonna get paid in the end, right? so it just depends on whether or not who wants house chores and who wants a job. and yes, paying for dates is important for guys because it shows chivalry to the girls. (duh) and definitely. i feel uncomfortable whenever anyone gives me anything for free tbh
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender?

8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have?
I think I would prefer to adopt children. But don't tell my mom that. But I have no idea if I will ever get married so I wouldn't adopt if I wasn't married...this is a complicated question. :/
9. Talk about money. Is it important to you to provide for a family financially if you choose to have one? Is it important to you that you earn more than any partner you may have? Do you prefer to pay for things like dates? Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you?
I've never been on a date so IDK. If I were to be in a relationship I would probably want to pay sometimes and let the other person pay sometimes. I wouldn't care who earns more but I would definitely want to contribute.

1. How do you self-identify your gender, and what does that definition mean to you?
- me

2. What pronouns honor you?
- I prefer just to be called jake with no actual pronouns, but if you were to use pronouns, id prefer they/them, but if you use he/him I'm not really bothered

3. Describe the style of clothing that you most often wear.
- usually just wear shorts and a too

4. Talk about your choices with body hair. How do you style your hair? Do you have facial hair? What do you choose to shave, or choose not to shave?
- I either brush my hair back and let it fall wherever it wants to or I'll tie it back
I have facial hair and id rather I didn't, but shaving is easy to get rid of it I'm just rly bad at it LOL
and ya I shave my face

5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any?
- I wear make up but nowhere near as often as I used to. I only really wear it now if I'm going out somewhere nice with friends. If I'm just hanging or going somewhere casual I won't bother. I also don't wear it to work unless I look really bad that day
I wear nail polish, but only clear and it's only to strengthen them
Soap I just use whatever I can be bothered to at the time - shampoo too, I have like 10 shampoos and conditioners and it really just depends on my mood and how much effort/time I can be bothered consuming

6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often?
- when I was young people would see me from behind and assume I'm a girl, which annoyed me a little, but now I don't care.
Now it doesn't happen too often, but if they call me a girl I don't care or anything, I only get annoyed when the people I'm with laugh, or the person corrects themselves, because it doesn't bother me being called a girl at all

[/b]7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you?[/b]
- sometimes I feel insecure about my body but I wouldn't class that as dysphoria. Though I really hate my work uniform. I don't like it at all (coz it's basically a business outfit) and it makes me feel rly uncomfortable

8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have?
- no, no and no. I'm really not interested in children at the present (who knows in the future tho), but I have told my friends I would take care of their kids if needed

9. Talk about money. Is it important to you to provide for a family financially if you choose to have one? Is it important to you that you earn more than any partner you may have? Do you prefer to pay for things like dates? Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you?
- ignoring the questions, I don't think I should be the sole provider, I think we should both provide equally, and if one does provide more than another, it shouldn't mean anything more than that, because someone being the "provider" leads to selfishness, which then leads to a power/controlling attitude, which I hate, so they should be equal.
Also I don't rly do dates so...

1. How do you self-identify your gender, and what does that definition mean to you?
imo the gender is whatever the person feels like they are inside - appearance doesnt interfear with the definition if that makes sense
2. What pronouns honor you?
none
3. Describe the style of clothing that you most often wear.
it depends on my mood. for school, my typical daily outfit is just jeans and a cute t shirt or sweater along with converse - nothing special -- sometimes maybe even shorts when its really hot out. like..we have a dress code but even the school staff doesnt care about it soo..yeah
4. Talk about your choices with body hair. How do you style your hair? Do you have facial hair? What do you choose to shave, or choose not to shave?
tbh im pretty hairy .u.; people say its thin so it shouldnt matter- but nahh it does. i just shave my legs, arms and underarms. i get my facial hair waxed. everywhere else is fine so i dont need to shave anywhere other than those places. as for my hair, i'd style it if i could but the most i do is a messy bun or pony tail. i always just let me hair flow down bc i dont want to deal with that pain after taking off a hair tie
5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any?
screw make up. im sure even the smallest things like mascara would boost my confidence, but i honestly really dont care about things like that. make up is just a waste of time imo and not wearing it means being able to rub my eyes and eat freely as much as i want - but i do paint my nails. my mom works at a nail salon so ive been getting some tips from her over the past few years. i have a nail polish collection of maybe 50 different bottles by now. im not necessarily obsessed with nail painting, but during the rare occasion of full out confidence, i go crazy with the nail art. i use pantene and dove for my shampoo and i have the victoria secrets perfume set bc im so paranoid about smelling bad throughout the day ^^; btw girls, please take my advice-- dont overuse your fkg perfume please. it wont even smell good or natural if you overuse
6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often?
once. it was raining so i was walking around campus with my hood on andd my outfit looked pretty generic for a guy to wear- black hoodies, jeans and converse. we walked past a teacher who was carrying like a stack of boxes and when he saw me, he said "hey son, mind helping me out? youre a dude right? you got good biceps?" the last part was a sarcasm, im assuming but once i flipped off my hood and let my long hair flow out, he was just standing there looking shell shocked lol. he apologized so many times but i can understand why he thought i was a guy
7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you?
no
8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have?
i have mixed feelings about kids. at a certain age they're cute and i love them, but once they hit the age of 6 or start picking up the ability to talk and run around, they annoy the sht out of me. then once they grow up and turn 11 or something, they start becoming bratty and id hate them even more. thats just how it was for all the kids i knew, im assuming those feelings will be different when its about my own kid. i dont have a solid answer on wanting a child either bc i have no responsibility at all. like..i have a younger sister and while she was still under like nine months old, i'd play with her for like five minutes then get bored & leave - idk about being forced to actually stay with them 24/7

money is really important to me, but im not some spoiled snob who rubs my cash income in peoples faces. heck, i dont think money ever even came up in the convos ive had with people and yeah its important especially when covering for a family - just dont devote your life to money. as for who gets to pay, whenever i say i'll pay its like ughh i dont want to blow any more money for other people, but then again ill feel bad for not doing my share. when someone else offers to pay, im like no no ill pay when really i dont want to yet i do..not sure if that makes sense
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender?
n/a

1. How do you self-identify your gender, and what does that definition mean to you? I'm a boy, it means I'm a boy.
2. What pronouns honor you? He, him, his, it.
3. Describe the style of clothing that you most often wear. Shirts and pants.
4. Talk about your choices with body hair. How do you style your hair? Do you have facial hair? What do you choose to shave, or choose not to shave? I don't style my hair. I do have facial hair. I haven't shaved yet.
5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any? I don't use makeup or paint my nails, I use Selson Blue shampoo.
6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often? Nope.
7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you? Nope, I enjoy being known as a weird person.
8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have? Sure, I guess. I wouldn't mind carrying it, but I think I'd do a pretty bad job. Nah, rather split it with the other person.
9. Talk about money. Is it important to you to provide for a family financially if you choose to have one? Is it important to you that you earn more than any partner you may have? Do you prefer to pay for things like dates? Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you? Why not, if you don't do your part, where's the point in having one? Nah, so long as we can get around, I'm satisfied. Never been on a date, so I'm not really sure. Depends on the amount they have to pay.
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender? Nope.

1. How do you self-identify your gender, and what does that definition mean to you?
-female
2. What pronouns honor you?
-She/Her
3. Describe the style of clothing that you most often wear.
-it can range from cute dresses/skirts to sweat pants and the same shirt I wear for a week.
4. Talk about your choices with body hair. How do you style your hair? Do you have facial hair? What do you choose to shave, or choose not to shave?
-I keep my hair straight, sometimes curled. I shave my under-arms, arms, and legs.
5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any?
-yes i do choose to wear makeup, i especially love experimenting with new eye shadow looks, etc. I paint my nails when i feel like it, usually once-twice in a whole year. I use a light sweet perfume, its slightly citrus smelling.
6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often?
-no i have not
7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you?
-gender dysphoria, nope. Just dysphoria, yes <-- uh it affects me in a negative way...
8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have?
-I am slightly interested in having children but we'll see if i ever meet someone that i want to start a family with. I would like to adopt if i could. If so then i want my future spouse to also take part in caring for the child, its both of our responsibilities.
9. Talk about money. Is it important to you to provide for a family financially if you choose to have one? Is it important to you that you earn more than any partner you may have? Do you prefer to pay for things like dates? Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you?
- yes it is important for me to earn enough so that I or (if i have a family) can live a comforatable lifestyle. As long as we both earn a decent amount that can help with the household budget, i do not care. I would prefer we split the bill, though i am fine if the other person chooses or offers to pay for me. If they want to then so be it, i dont mind at all. Though I tend to say its not necessary. Then again no one really offers since I just go out with my friends. We always split the bill.
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender?
-Today in chapel (required in my school) we watched an AXIS video about gender and what 'god' says about it (including things with homosexuality and the like) :/ I disagreed with 98% of it...really made me question some of the thoughts and beliefs the majority of my school has.

1. How do you self-identify your gender, and what does that definition mean to you? I'm agender, or non-binary. I'm genderless, and I like it that way. I used to identify as male, as well as female, but neither suit me very well. I'm much happier without a binary gender.
2. What pronouns honor you? They/them/their!
3. Describe the style of clothing that you most often wear. Comfortable and casual. I'm also autistic and have a lot of intense tactile sensory problems, so whatever fits and feels good is what I wear. I don't bother with any clothes that are uncomfortable.
4. Talk about your choices with body hair. How do you style your hair? Do you have facial hair? What do you choose to shave, or choose not to shave? The hair on my head is long, for the first time since I was very little! I'm actually really proud of it. I'm trying to grow it out a bit longer and then cut off the split ends. As far as other body hair, that's a bit personal, but I will say I'm not a fan of shaving. It's uncomfortable for me, and takes a lot of time and attention I can't spare.
5. Talk about cosmetics. Do you choose to wear makeup? Do you paint your nails? What types of soaps and perfumes do you use if any? I used to wear makeup, but don't anymore. Sometimes I'll wear mascara if the occasion calls for it, but again, I have tactile sensory problems because of my autism, and wearing makeup aggravates me.
6. Have you experienced being misgendered? If so, how often? Constantly. I'm currently called "Miss" at work by all of my co-workers, which is tedious and annoying, but getting misgendered doesn't bother me now as much as it used to. I still don't like it, but I can live with it in small doses.
7. Do you experience dysphoria? How does that affect you? I don't experience dysphoria as much as I used to. It's still there on bad days, but I've been having a lot of good days recently.
8. Talk about children. Are you interested in having children? Would you want to carry a child if that were an option for you? Do you want to be the primary caretaker for any children you may have? I'm not going to be interested in children until I can provide solely for myself. That's a conversation I'll have with myself when I'm ready.
9. Talk about money. Is it important to you to provide for a family financially if you choose to have one? Is it important to you that you earn more than any partner you may have? Do you prefer to pay for things like dates? Are you uncomfortable when others pay for you or offer to pay for you? I'm not really in the business of having a romantic partner currently, so I'm not worried about spending money on anyone but myself, or on anything not essentially to my own self-preservation. Basically, I'm not going on any dates currently. I don't have the control over my anxiety or just the general desire to do so.
10. Anything else you want to share about your experience with gender? I would just say that gender may not be important to you, but it certainly is to some people. So, don't treat it like some throw away, pointless concept. For me, and for a lot of other trans people, gender isn't our main focus. But for some other trans people, their gender is front and center, always on their mind, etc. Just be kind and understanding to the best of your abilities. Trans people are still people!
