Recently, I came up with some way of analyzing TV shows and movies. I might need your guys' help on naming the ranks for each genre. I already got one done, but since I don't watch too many movies or TV shows, I'll need help on the rest.
When coming up with ranks for each genre, it's based on how much content of one genre takes up the TV show and movie. Here's what I have:
Level 0 - no match: when focusing on one genre, all movies and TV shows that do not contain anything of the genre in question would go here, as they are the worst representative for the genre. 0%
Level 1 - negligible: the movie or TV show contains some influences from the genre, but there is so few that it won't be classified under the genre. <20%
Level 2 - weak: the movie or TV show is classified under the genre, but the genre is a recessive genre for whatever we're analyzing. 20-39%
Level 3 - average: the movie or TV show has enough content or influences of that genre where it wouldn't be a recessive genre, but it's not the main one. 40-59%
Level 4 - strong: the genre in review is the main genre for the movie or TV show, but there are enough from others to where the movie or TV show would classify under that genre. 60-79%
Level 5 - solid: the influences of that genre is so strong that it would be the only one for the movie or TV show, as the movie or TV show is one of the best representatives of it. >79%
I already came up the level names for the sci-fi genre, so I'll use that for an example.
Level 0 - Natural: there are no sci-fi influences whatsoever.
Level 1 - Scientist: there are some sci-fi influences (or at least a sci-fi scene), but there isn't enough to classify the movie or TV show as sci-fi.
Level 2 - Mad Scientist: there are enough sci-fi influences to be classified as sci-fi, but they are also weak enough to make sci-fi a recessive genre.
Level 3 - Cyborg: the movie or tv show has enough sci-fi elements (such as advanced technology, teleportation, and time travel), but there isn't enough to make it the main one.
Level 4 - Android: the movie or tv show is very futuristic, but it is a good representative of other genres.
Level 5 - Ultra-robot: while the movie or tv show stands out very well under sci-fi, it appears to be a poor representative of other genres.
Here's a question. Since I don't have enough experiences of the other genres, would you like to help out naming the levels of the other genres? The main ones are action, adventure, comedy, drama, crime/gangster, historical, musical, horror, sci-fi, and western. This is a serious thread since I'm sharing my ideas and looking for your ideas on the ranks for the other genres.
