Giveaways & Prizes ~ What kind of giveaways are the most fun? What types of prizes?

Hi :]. I've been considering holding my own giveaway and I'm trying to brain storm some ideas for a fun giveaway; thus, I want to know what kind of giveaway is the most fun for everyone here? Personally, I like the design-me-a-room contests; I also sometimes like ones that are like "guess my favorite Pokemon" for tbt.

Here are some of the ideas I've been considering:

Idea A
Get to Know Me ~ part 1 About my ACNL town and preferences; part 2 About my taste in video games and such.

Idea B
Design Me a Room ~ I'm not happy with how one of my rooms looks; it's a room I'm basing off of a room in Skyhold in Dragon Age: Inquisition. I want to have a library in my house, but at the same time, I don't want it to look really generic or modern (even though I really want to use the copy machine and have a computer, etc. ><). Also, I'm not good at filling up the space without making it cluttered. So, I thought maybe post have part of the giveaway involve people working with what I currently have in my room (by replacing or adding to it) and submitting it.

Idea C
Design Me An ACNL Banner/Theme ~ I was thinking of making an alternate blog to post all of my Animal Crossing screenshots to, rather than to my regular blog. I don't know how long this idea will last, but in any case, I'd like to have a cool background or banner to show that my town is based on Dragon Age, and/or what villagers are in it (though, I think I'd want to wait until I get through the 16 villager cycle to get Rosie back; and I don't want Eloise here either ><).

Idea D
Landscape planning and PWP placement tips

How the winners would be decided ~ by points; idea A = undecided about how many points; idea B = 100 points possible; idea C=50-100 maybe? For landscape planning, best and most thorough (that I like) earns 50 points.

I never really cared much for the submit 1 tbt for 1 entry idea, but, I'm considering having some limited repeatable ways to earn points; also some non-repeatable like the enter me please in comment.


That's where my brainstorming is at the moment. As for prizes, I've only thought of TBT and sets that I could collect on my own; I'll probably also buy some of them somewhere.

I love the contests! But that's just me being competitive XD Contest are harder to win, so people might not like the idea of putting in effort but I love them.
 
I once did a giveaway where I hid a rainbow feather somewhere in my town, and I let people visit the dream address and look for the feather. The first person to find it and post a picture/ proof won like 200 btb or something.

Also when I was about 1 month new here I held a giveaway for 275 million bells, where people just had to post. 1 post per hour and 1 post equals 1 entry. I also gave them other ways of entering, like writing poems and drawing pictures. It was a pretty big hit with about 1000 replies.

That's a good idea of each post being an entry; I might actually use that as an option, if you don't mind ~ in the event that I do hold a giveaway. :p
 
I like the guess my favorite thing and stuff like that. I hate giveaways where you enter by posting. They get out of hand are are really unfair, one may have 1k posts while everyone else has 50 posts. I find it unfair with giveaways like that.
 
That's how I feel about the paying tbt for entries; I'm glad you brought that up, though I haven't seen any giveaways like that yet.
 
I've always liked the distorted mirror games from the tbt fair. If you have any Photoshop skills, you can always try that.

edit: oh was this for the fair? i didn't participate in the fair but there was a distorted image guess in the last egg hunt

I like the idea of distored images from the TBT Fair, and any giveaway is fine as long as no TBT payment is involved tbh. It seems really weird to be giving something away for a price, with the intention of "giving" it rather than "selling" it.
 
I like the guessing ones but there has to be some sort of rules to prevent people from just answering a lot at one time.

Also paying for entries is a big no for me.

In my lastest giveaway some people started to make really bad puns and I loved reading them :D So maybe a bad puns giveaway :)

I noticed a lot of people doing that in their giveaways and I always thought it seemed a little unfair; in spite of that, I wanted to see what everyone else thought of it so I can try something that everyone would enjoy doing and that would be fair. So, right now, guessing giveaways and just plain handing things out for free with no effort are what I can do at the moment.

I see a lot of people asking for art. There are also collectibles.

- Art (if you can't make it, you can hire someone to for TBT)
- Collectibles (the rarer the better)
- Unorderable Sets (even just a bunch of unorderables all related by theme too)

Also maybe things non-AC:NL related too:

- Pokemon (shiny, event, rare, legendary, and battle-trained are the best bet)
- dA points (maybe throw in some llama badges for second/third place or for just participating)
