After a couple days of no glitches, something new happened. Compared to the last big thing, it seems kinda, well, minor.
See, I got a letter from mom with a present attached. I started to open my inventory to look at my present when I saw this dragonfly I've been trying to catch for a while, and chased it with my net. (Amazingly, I caught it—it's a banded dragonfly.) I then got distracted by other stuff that happened (star on the ground, then a rush to the museum), and I forgot about the present for a while. When I finally remembered it, I opened it and saw it was a pitfall, which naturally surprised me, but I was even more surprised by the name of it: "ÁàÁ".
Considering the weird stuff that's been going on with my game, I decided against using it. I just did some research, and found a video on YouTube showing the same pitfall. It's actually a glitched item, which the uploader called "Reset Pitfall". Apparently, if I drop it it will reset my game automatically. I checked the name in the video against the one of my pitfall, and they match. I'm glad I didn't do anything with it, because I finally caught the Banded dragonfly, and had also expanded my museum collection a bit today. I wouldn't want to lose any of that, especially the banded dragonfly. My cousin spent a year trying to catch that one; I got lucky in catching it, and I doubt I'd be able to catch it again.
I'm not going to risk seeing what happens if I bury it, or even sell it to Nook. I can't put it in the Dump since that would require dropping it on the ground, and would reset my game. The way I figure, it's pointless to drop it; if the game resets, the pitfall will probably reappear in my inventory. Even if I hadn't saved the game, I think the letter from Mom it was attached to still might be in my mailbox anyway. Also, I don't think the guy who uploaded that video didn't have weird stuff happening to his game like mine. He got it in a letter from a friend of his, not "Mom".
Instead, I just put it back in the letter, and put it in storage. Yeah, I'm not touching that letter again. I really hope I won't get anymore letters from Mom with weird gifts.
Also, an update on my last entry: my cousin sent me a link to a site where I can design patterns and post them. I copied mine down on it and it's awaiting admin approval, but I searched for "eye" in the gallery on there and found one that's similar to the one I mentioned. It's almost identical in design, though the colors are different (mine is all blue). If the game is hacked, then maybe the hacker liked it or something and just modified it? Meh, I don't know how hacking works. For all I know, a hacker could make Wisp red. Here's the one I found:
EDIT: The pattern I made got approved! Here it is:
