so the golden trout is the last fish i need to catch that’s available during march and i’m having a little trouble with it - i know they can only be caught in the clifftop river but what time would be best to catch them? some sources have said you can catch them from 4pm-9am meanwhile other sources have said 4am-9am. so i guess i’m wondering what time i should try and catch it and if anybody has any tips? thank you ^~^

i actually caught it on accident (was looking for a stringfish) - and it was definitely later in the evening, somewhere between 8-10pm. no tips other than bait, tenacity, and good luck <3

The Critterpedia says active hours are 4pm-9am :) good luck finding it

Don't rush yourself with it. Its available in March, April and May as well as September, October and November.

I cannot remember the exact shadow size, but it is at least the size of a cherry salmon. Just keep walking through both tiers two and three and it will spawn eventually. Feel free to use bait as well if you prefer it!

First one I caught was at around 6pm without fish bait in clear weather. Second was around 7pm with fish bait in rainy weather. In game it does it is available from 4pm-9am. I don’t know if helps but that is experience so far.

I found the golden trout in the river between my 2 cliffs (the range from the cliffs seems generous) Catch all the big shadows because there's also stringfish

thank you guys for all the responses! maybe i’ll try to catch it again tonight <33

I caught two yesterday evening. :)
Just keep stocking up on bait (you don't NEED bait, but it can help it to spawn). Good luck! :)

It's just all about persistence! I think it's more of a rarer spawn, but you'll get it. I caught mine on the clifftop at the river start spot, in that little pool. I kept throwing bait in until I got it.

4pm-9am is right. I've caught quite a few - the earliest being just after 4pm!

The golden trout feels rarer to me than tuna, oarfish, sturgeon, and some of the other rares. So yes, keep at it. You will find it though. Try using bait, but keep in mind you may need 50+.
