with the content of the 2.0 update announced as the last free major update, and gracie not being shown off in any capacity, I believe it's time to mourn the death of the tackiest fashion designer of the animal crossingverse

leave your offerings, stories, and whatever else in remembrance of that time you were forced to clean her tacky car that probably littered your town waterways with tires only for her to yell at you for not doing a "good enough" job or that time she fashion checked you, called you ugly, and then did so again in writing her services and lack of character

Rest In Peace Gracie Grace. I will sincerely miss you and your very pretty furniture designs dearly. I will miss being berated for being a fashion criminal. Now there is officially one less Devil Wears Prada, Cruella De Vill (or Baroness)-esque person in my fictional world to admire and fear and I am very sad.

Unless she just wasn't mentioned and is still coming. Slowly trying to grasp the reality that this isn't the case though.

RIP Gracie; I think she would arguably bring the most content of all the characters still missing considering she comes with a clothing/furniture line. But I guess it depends on what Nintendo calls 'major'. Considering how much was offered in this update, there might still be hope; they might only consider 'major' updates to be like a 2.0. When Leif and Redd were added together, even that was treated as a more minor update I think, and Brewster was only a tiny fraction of what we got this time, so I don't think it's totally out of the question (although it's probably unlikely) that Gracie will get her own update down the line.

I'm not losing hope yet though; she's one of my favourites and I'd love to have her back!

I don't know if she's gone. I think it's too soon to say. Like I've said elsewhere, she would fit in great on the new space on Harv's island. I know Harriet is the only "new" NPC we saw there, but that doesn't mean there aren't others.

At the very least, I feel like Gracie might show up as an NPC you can design a house for in the new DLC. I would be very surprised if you can't design for every NPC that has an amiibo. That's how it worked in HHD anyway.

Maybe one of her furniture sets will make an appearance? That way she will live on through her designs. No way to know forsure though until the 5th.

I’m not optimistic she will return, but I am somewhat optimistic about a shop upgrade still existing (based on what a leaker said), so I’m not totally ruling it out yet.

I'm not convinced she's gone for good. They specifically said "last major FREE update" which theoretically means more paid dlc is possible.

this could also be taken to mean there will be more minor updates adding some small items or such (or maybe on an even more extreme level, no more new content period and future 'updates' will be just to turn on/off seasonal item/event things), but nothing else adding any more major gameplay changes or qol upgrades

plus, I feel with what's basically hhd2, future major updates, if any, would probably be tied to it. guess they could do a standalone paid update, but I can't see any way to do it that wouldn't get severe backlash

I mean at least this paid dlc thing we're getting is basically a whole extra game on its own, but something like "give us money for gracie"? that's just paywalling what honestly should've been in the game from the start

Gracie has an amino card, so it's possible she can visit the Brewster or we can design a house for her.

Considering how popular her furniture series were in NL I am still hoping she makes a return. Maybe in a smaller update in the future.

I think she will possibly have a plot of land on Harv's island, or will come back in some capacity. Another thread showed off some of the new furniture items and while they didn't have names, it looked like the Gorgeous and Sweets set were at least making a return, it'd be odd if they didn't also include the Princess and Gracie sets.

Her clothing however.... I miss it. A lot.
