Alright alright so the first thing you're probably thinking is, "Micheal, it's September 10th, why in the world are you making a thread about Halloween plans?"
The answer is: because I'm hyperfixated, don't judge me. Halloween good and it's never too early to start celebrating.

2020 has been a crazy year, if it wasn't obvious, so much so that Halloween might end up just being cancelled this year, saying that trick-or-treating may not be possible and parties are a no-no. However, Halloween is still the start of the holiday season, in my opinion. It's my favorite holiday- I love the ghouls and ghosts and everything about the aesthetic of it so much I could just scream. Even though I'm now "too old" to trick or treat, and Halloween may not be really happening this year, that's not stopping me from being excited. I've still gone to the store and gotten some new decor, and am awaiting more hitting the stores, and I've already got my costume together! Well, I've ordered everything for it, it just needs to come!

Yes, costume! I'm dressing up this year even though I'm probably just going to stay inside, eat a little candy, draw, and watch Jerma! And this year I'm going all-out! I'm dressing up as a Jack Skellington inspired plague doctor and GOSH I'm so excited!! I can't wait for the whole costume to get here. I might even post pictures since my face is covered and all.

I've been rambling but here are the questions: What's your plans for Halloween? Are you dressing up? If so, as what? Do you think Halloween will be enjoyable this year? What are you gonna have to do different than usual, what with the world's state?

on a side note: if the fair wasn't going on I'd be spookified, but I gotta wait till staff favorites are announced for the signature contest thing

i haven’t really celebrated halloween in quite some time. i love the holiday and the spookiness of it all but i guess the charm slowly wore off as i grew older aha.

that being said, my ‘traditions’ usually just consist of admiring people’s decorations (where i live, not many people decorate for holidays anymore which is kinda sad), eat a bunch of candy and pretend that it’s okay and look at all the halloween decorations that pop up in the dollar store decorations that pop up months earlier lmao and so, i don’t see this year being much different aha - but maybe i’ll throw in some scary movies, just to spice things up :p

i will also once again be tempted to buy a mini pumpkin for no reason other than i really like mini pumpkins lmaoo

I always do a simple costume at work, so I can move easily, and hand out candy to my customers (mini peanut butter cups, because I'm a civilized person). I won't be working this year, though, do it'll be celebration at home.

I'll probably do a simple harvest meal, take a walk to enjoy the fall, and watch some favorite Halloween programs - Peanuts, Mad Monster Party, etc.

I'M ALSO EXCITED FOR HALLOWEEN!!! I celebrate it every day from October 1st until October 31st! 🍂🦉🦇 (Will be celebrating from home due to world situation)

🎃 Decorate parts of my town in ACNH to be Halloween-themed (I've already started!!! 🥳)
🎃 Wear costume in ACNH
🎃 Get costume IRL
🎃 Decorate house IRL
🎃 Crafts
🎃 Draw Halloween-themed art
🎃 Get candy
🎃 Watch Halloween movies (which are not spooky)
🎃 Take Autumn walks
🎃 Make Dirt Cup desserts
🎃 Listen to Halloween music
🎃 Play Junkenstein's Revenge in Overwatch (and also the Halloween event in Apex Legends if they bring it back 🙏 PLEASE!!!)

My boyfriend & I have had a Halloween party for years now but I don't think it will be safe this year due to covid. The numbers have been on the rise in my province so not worth the risk. Breaks my heart though cause I'm pretty sure it's on a Saturday this year and a full moon.

I haven't gone out of my way to celebrate Halloween for a decade now. It rained heavily on Halloween when I last went trick-or-treating, so I came down with a pretty bad cold. I might dress up if I have everyday clothes that can be easily put together into a costume. We're lucking out this year since Halloween falls on a Saturday, so I might do a virtual celebration/chill session with some uni friends. :)

Samethin I do every year. Stay home and watch movies in my costume :')

I really like Halloween but I don't do anything besides buy decor, which I can't really do much.

I love Halloween it’s close ish to my birthday. The roommates, my best friend, and I will be getting into our onesies and watching movies and eating snacks. Not sure what movies yet, but pretty sure monster house and hocus locus will be there.

I'm planning on hanging out with my friend. We're going trick-or-treating, and as usual, we're doing something stupid. This year we're getting penguin onesies and going as penguins from Club Penguin. Afterwards we'll be watching tons of movies.

I'll be working. Too bad it doesn't count as a holiday where we get extra pay hahah. I'll probably wear a cute Halloween themed headband or something to get into the spirit.

What's your plans for Halloween? What are you gonna have to do different than usual, what with the world's state?

My family feels that trick or treating and holding parties this year will be relatively unsafe. Especially as several of us are high-risk (or have frequent contact with other high-risk people), we want to limit contact. As a result, we aren't planning to welcome trick-or-treaters this year. I suspect many other families will do the same, especially in our neighbourhood as we have many elderly residents.

Not sure if there will be any local regulations or advice about how to trick or treat safely, but I wouldn't be surprised if there will be something released - like maybe putting candy in bowls instead of actually handing candy straight to kids.

Are you dressing up? If so, as what?

I haven't dressed up for Halloween in quite a few years. Maybe I'll try to throw something together using items I already have, but I certainly don't plan on buying anything special.

Do you think Halloween will be enjoyable this year?

I think so! I think it will be a lot different than previous years - obviously, with COVID-19, there are a lot of safety regulations to consider that will likely mean a lack of trick or treating and Halloween parties. That being said, there are still loads of ways that you can celebrate on your own! Decorating your house, hosting Zoom movie sessions.... lots of options.

I haven’t celebrated Halloween in years now tbh and don’t see myself doing anything different this year. The only holiday I’m somewhat looking forward to is Christmas, but then again I don’t like the winter season so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

probably going to have to work in the morning, but hopefully i can have the night off to eat some candy and watch some movies!

I originally was going to go to Anime Weekend Atlanta (which is now always around Halloween), like I have been for the last several years. But then COVID happened.

I'm not doing anything. Just like I've been doing this entire frickin' year. :(

Play New Horizons. 🎃

Mainly stare longingly at Halloween releases that I cannot buy cause I cannot use Tenso atm. 😪

I'm still unsure what I'm doing, probably nothing, which is a shame since me and my partner love Halloween. It's the one time of year we look "normal" (because we're big spoopy gothy metal people, not because we're ugly) and we can find cool year round decorations in every shop.

Last year was a massive disappointment. We had just moved into our first place away from our parents. It was too small a place to have a 'gathering' in, it was in an area where it felt pointless decorating (main road, secluded, no kids, no festivities), we didn't really have the money to do anything. It was a bummer. We just had rum, watched Evil Dead and played Ark (it had halloween items, so, yea). Extra lame since it was the first time we were together for halloween.

This year we were hoping to go all out since we've moved into a much bigger and nicer house as well as having the money to waste but alas, all the current events have pretty much shut down any option of doing something other than 'staying in and watching a movie'. Maybe at best we'll have some trick or treaters this year, which to be honest will only serve as a reminder that Halloween again sucks this year.

I think at the very least we'll throw up the few decorations we got last year, carve some pumpkins as it's something we've never done and want to, grab some sweets for any potential trick or treaters, throw on our matching spooky skeleton shirts and think about how awesome next years will be...Until it gets closer to the time and something else makes it suck.

I love Halloween! I was hoping we’d be able to take my 3 year old trick or treating since she’s been talking about it non stop since November, lol. Last year was her first time trick or treating, I guess it’s fair to say she had a great time! But obviously with the pandemic we’ll have to play it by ear. Regardless I’ll buy her a costume (she’s currently undecided between spider man, buzz lightyear, or True from the rainbow kingdom) and maybe set up something for her at home if trick or treating gets canceled or if it just seems too unsafe. My birthday is the day before Halloween so even if we can’t go out at least we’ll still be able to have a celebration indoors with cake and decorations! It’ll definitely still be enjoyable no matter what happens.

My sister and I are dressing up as Louie Duck and Webby Vanderquack from the 2017 Ducktales. We'll be watching the Halloween ep that's coming out and eat candy!
