I remember an episode of As Told By Ginger where Carl wishes away a female classmate, only to regret the decision when she leaves shortly after he gets to know her, as the somber brown and yellow of autumnal trees bitten by frost, all against the backdrop of a serene, cold sky fed into that melancholic sense of opportunity passed.
